Depends. A tv is cheap when you compare price to size ratio with a computer monitor, and would be the best option if you are not using it for pc work. but thrre is a reason for the price differences. sharpness at close range, colour reproduction, ghosting etc are better on a computer monitor. In the end what you will be uaing it as would be the man reason of choosing

IPS then, since if you want to work you would like to see the fonts clearly, and not some fuzzy black blob

if only u notice that many tv out there are IPS as well
do take note not all 32" tv running 1080, some only 720p

but computer screen 23" are 1080 resolution

Did the 8ms response time will cause ghosting when playing games? target use for FPS like BF3, MW3  and also  prepare for diablo 3

Can ask suggestion from the hardcore gamer, their eyes might different from me.
But to me, this monitor worth every money I've spent. It is beautiful.

Your 32" lcd is TV or monitor?
If TV, it might have low resolution and will effect the text on the screen.
Max resolution for most of lcd TV is 1920 x 1080 only.
Everything will appear bigger on the TV. If just watching movie is okay I guest.

Well, it is all up to you.
You can test it yourself. Just connect the TV to the computer and live with it for a week.
If it satisfy you enough, keep it. If it don't, so next step is yours.

yeah no hdmi, need to buy hdmi switch and dvi to hdmi converter if u plan to plug ur xbo360 or ps3 to use with the monitor.. if u using ati card then monitor can connect to displayport, so no much problem..
