That is correct. HDMI, DVI, DISPLAYPORT are all digital interface and shares the same image quality.

No difference on the U2312HM or any 1080p monitor. DVI Dual Link/Display Port has wider bandwidth and can carry more signal than HDMI. DVI Dual Link/Display Port is required for monitors running at higher resolution that 1080p/1200p

To be precise HDMI and DP are incompatible digital signals.... unless the HDMI port also carries the DP signal where a passive adapter by-pass/select the DP signal ...

a native HDMI to DP signal needs an active digital to digital converter..

Back to DP on U2312H... it makes no difference on HDMI or DP... the monitor is not able to display frequency and colour bit beyond the capability of the panel.

bring ur laptop to electronic store, say wanna test
40" at low resolution 1080, u already know the outcome
go test urself anyway
best one would be old skool 20.1" or 21" lcd with 4:3 resolution
they run 1600x1200 resolution
HD is sux whistling.gif but are u willing to give it away?

monitor with that ratio is quite hard to find... not to mention at that resolution...

The U2312HM after color calibration delivers very natural and accurate color. Out of the box, it is still within spec but it's very bright and is a little over 6500k.

How do you calibrate the monitor? hmm.gif

Each panel is different and the settings will not look right on your respective monitor. As a matter of fact, it may be even worse off if you used out calibrated settings without doing an actual calibration using the mter.

We currently do not provide calibration service for monitors purchased elseswhere. We only do them FOC for our customers. Maybe in the future we will offer this service to the open market. The meter is not terribly expensive but also not exactly cheap. It costs more than the monitor biggrin.gif
