I have 1 more question to ask: do unit trust agents have to declare income tax since they are working on commission basis and have no statutory form from Public Mutual?

I don't know about other "agents", but i do declare to income tax - even though it's mostly "sales to self", the commission$ from Public Mutual are considered income. Heck, i don't want the tax man cometh sweat.gif

BTW, Public Mutual have started sending out those statutory forms - pretty funny for a "strict and by the book" organization to miss out such things in the earlier years.

My consultant ask me to buy this fund and every month DDI. Later 3 yrs check back this performance and it is dissapointing.

Got stuck.

I imagine those who bought at ealier stage. Starting price 0.25 to compare now.  sad.gif

Unbearable pain and emotional dissapointment with this investment after checking it. It is making a 4 digit lost and 2k++.

If I switch, it will lost in capital depreciation and sales commission.
*
When you make a switch to another fund, sales commission or service charge is not lost; what was paid is already paid... yes, you will miss the rebound (IF, and it's a big IF, it ever happens).

Looking at its 3-year performance chart, it is on the decline since mid of 2011, with lost of about 25% from 22-July-2009 (if you have made a lump sum investment at this day), plus the service charge of 5.5%, it is a NEGATIVE 30%.

Since you're making monthly DDI, you have average out the highs and lows, and the depreciation is not likely to be as bad as 25%.

IMHO, you should continue and wait for its rebound before making any switch to another fund.

You could opt for a slight rebound, not a total rebound that will breakeven and recover all the lost, since this fund goes up and down very sharp and very quick... so don't hope to time the switch perfectly. Another method would be to switch out partially, about 20-30% at a time.

The main reasons in my suggestion to hold on and not stop the DDI is:
1) Unit trust is long term savings. (I prefer using "savings" than "investment".)
2) You are making monthly DDI.
3) Buy low, sell high. This is the mantra... if you switch out now, you're buying high, selling low.

All the best.

With China growth is slowing down, don't expect a high rebounce in short term.

er.. bro - instead of posting vague items, just state your Qs here lar.
Ask ada orang do PM via EPF --> then if yes? if no?

Straight away just plonk your Q here better isnt it? And if U did read earlier posts - there are quite a number of folks here doing EPF A/C1 to mutual funds.

Just a thought notworthy.gif

Ah.. Vantage.
Er.. those fellows are in SG & AU right, not MY? I remembered an ang moh calling me on it when i tried out their system.
Personally too scary for now as it's all currency movement based (ie. "price" based) rather than value-based.
Too ingrained into my head (value) to just look at price-volume movements of currency pairs sweat.gif

Also worried about whether my Will can get the $ back to my family if something suddenly happens to me + if i strike it rich, whether tax man may ask funny questions. notworthy.gif

this is a site to verify traders REAL track record from brokerage comp directly:
"Track record is verified after comparing the data to data coming directly from the broker using an investor password."

there's another well known site also track their REAL performance:
http://www.forexpeacearmy.com/all_forex_tests/t1_fx_vr5/real

they have office in MY ... yea ... the currency movement now is just like last year japan tsunami & nuclear crisis ... haha
try focus only in a few pairs ... not too many le .... exhausted lol

if you have extra money only you go into it ... don't every take ALL your money to put in it
this company unlike those scam comp ... just tell u every mth gain how many % (e.g. 50% mthly etc), they nvr ever told u how much u will lose
always believe in high risk high return ... low risk low return ..... there's no low risk high return
the service i'm engaging giving me 3-6% mthly return so far, i think it's alright, i'm not too greedy to gain 50% per mth, knowing 1 day u might lose 100% ;p

Its a decision you have to make and its all about opportunities.

For the past one month, many counters on the local bourse had gone up by more than 10% and if you have sold and reinvest, you would have recover some of your lost capital.

Looking at the short to medium term of the Chinese economy, do you think it will do well with the Euro crisis and the stuttering US economy?

Its the SEA region thats where the action is.

agreed. but from the day i invested till now .... there's no show of profit at all ...
unless you were saying wen the price drop ... and it move up again ... the difference of the price - profit
maybe i trusted the wrong agent at that time ... still being naive ;p

there's a debate on this.
"The financial tensions in Europe could still degenerate into a disorderly sovereign default and full-blown economic crisis. Contagion remains a real risk. While the United Statesrecovery keeps nudging forward, politics or a eurozone recession could reverse its momentum. And that could all spread to Asia."

i'm not a economist or fundamental analysis, i'm more towards technical analysis.
