Hi everyone, I got my s2 for almost 1 month now. Some time the heat really went up a lot at top of the screen where the SAMSUNG word printed. when the heat rise, battery consumption is faster then normal. After I restart, then it will be back to normal. If whn the heat rise and I was charging, seen like having some difficulty to load the charge (20 min only up 3%). But once I restart the phone, then the charging will be faster.
Do you guy having this problem? For those who never have this problem, can you let me know which firware your are using? btw, what is the different between firmware for indonesia, singapore, china and so on? Language different?
Appreciated for your feedback, sharing & advise.

I'm on test right now for four hours non-stop already with my phone screen ON and phone charger also ON. My temperatures now is 46C :-P My firmware XXKG1. Added on August 23, 2011, 2:14 am08pm - 02am. 6 hours non-stop. Both cores scores 252. Temperatures up to 50C now. End of Stability Test Ver2.1 (08pm - 06am @ non-stop) Both cores result is 425 runs at temperatures of 54°C. RAM successful runs result is 4850. Unfortunately when i tried to take a screenshot, i wrongly press back button and that make it close the app :-( Though i failed to achieve the 60°C target, it still show that our beloved SGSII CAN run smoothly at temperature 54°C. So there's NOTHING to be worried* if your phone reach 54°C while you using it. * (That is IF your phone is in a good working condition on the first place :-P) Members can check full result at page 24 post # 479 ~~ Cheers.!! ~~

QUOTE(dishwasher @ Aug 22 2011, 11:10 PM) Its not always going to be in the app drawer. Never tried litening, but for cognition, its not in the app drawer. Either use the extended power menu, or off the phone and boot into recovery mode using the hardware keys. Well.. it's going to be difficult eh? Cause I thought that one of the steps to root using cf root was to flash the zimage file using cwm after flashing the stock kernel? But I can't because thee isn't the cwm to select. Here are my steps: 1. Flash cfroot. Via odin 2. Go to recovery mode and wipe partition. And dalvik. 3. Flash lite ning rom. See the application drawer. And see nothing. How to flash the zimage? I just flashed a stock kernel. To get rid of the yellow triangle. Now can't flash the zimage file. Anyway to flash that zimage file besides using cwm?

i've just sold sgs2. it's a good phone, perhaps the best android out there. but the update cycles for android software is too fast making me crazy. cannot afford to flash or update every 2 or 3 days. perhaps many like it this way bcos bugs get ironed out, but in the process sometimes more new bugs are introduced.
my next phone? better don't mention here.
have fun guys. this has been one of the best supported thread available locally.

And why did you follow all this flasher that keep on flasing all the test built firmware, in the first place? The truth is there is not much different between all this firmware updates. So there is no need for you to flash it. Just sit tight and wait for the official release from Samsung itself to us. And for official firmware means nearly no bugs at all.!! Futhermore Samsung OTA is nearly finished its testing stage. So you can receive your update much much easier :-P Hmm., what's done is done. Hope you'll find happiness in using your next new phone

If you flashed to another stock kernel, chances are your CWM will be gone. I think you should have flashed the zimage of a stock kernel, not the kernel itself. After that, flash the zimage of a CF-Root kernel. Anyway, my point earlier is that the CWM app might not always be present in the app drawer. It doesn't mean you don't have CWM. You can still access it thru the power menu (hold down power button, select recovery), or using the hardware keys when the phone is off (should be power+menu+volume up). Since you're flashed a stock kernel tho, I think you'll need to reflash a CF-Root kernel.

Maybe could be your sim card? Try rubbing the gold portion with eraser and see if that helps. Have you tested your SIM card on another phone? Also test another different sim card on your SG 2. DOn't think rooting will cause that problem..
