biter? i thought the smaller hamsters are more of a biter. haha.. i like syrians becoz they are big enof for me to hold them and pinch their cheeks. hahahaha.. i find small hamsters too fast for me to handle though they are really cute.

The small hamster is fast but they dont bite as much as syrian. A syrian can bite through plastic to escape. The smaller one did not bite also.

Haha,agree with Neko...
In a newbie but my 1st hamster were a pair of male robos(sibling)... The bigger 1 were afraid of human, even some small noise will make him hide... The smaller 1 were more friendly,i can handle him whenever i like n he will come to sniff my finger... But sometimes they r really a big problem, especially when they run loose... Added on January 9, 2012, 8:52 pmI have 1 winter white too... She was more friendly, slower n she will come to me when im around... But the major problem is she pee alot... Need to clean the cage almost everyday... WW Maintenance vs handling robos.... I prefer robos... This post has been edited by Ronald_loulan: Jan 9 2012, 08:52 PM |

never had robo before. but i find them really cute. esp wen they are so many of them together snuggling to sleep at the petshop. so adorable. but they run so fast! i bet i will be chasing after them in my room if i let them out to roam about. haha.. at least syrian is easier for me to catch back. would love to have robo next time
btw, guys, this thread is going to need some photos |

Hi guys. Im new in this hobby. Just bought 2 winter whites. One keep in my girlf's house, one in mine. Just wanna share with you all the horrible experience just now when I was buying them. They keep Robos and WWs in the same tank. And no one in the shop knew how to differentiate between them. But one malay guy sort of knew.
So we told him to pick a female and a male for us. And teach us how to sex them. He squeezed them up by pressing against it very hard and put them upside down very forcefully and rough. The hamsters were screaming and I couldn't even concentrate on what he was telling me at all. One of them kena until shit. Dont know if its due to fear or due to the guy pressing against it's stomach too hard. The guy even shook their houses and the hamsters fall out everywhere. He shook it those were mere objects inside! Really sim tia watching them handle their animals. -___- But anyway, I'm really happy with the 2 WW's that I bought. They're really adorable and sleep alot. Hope to learn more from you all. |

apparently, the wheel that comes with the cage doesn't spin well. it gets stuck half way through the rotation and have to use more force to make it spin again. therefore my hamster wasn't able to spin it. any solution guys?
