u can try to take it out & test it. mine when i take out its still making noise because the yellow plastic wheel holder is touching the main wheel...there is some friction contact with each other....u can try...if no noise then good la...or else then upside down is the solution tongue.gif

hi guys, i just bought 1 pair of robo last sunday. and today when i back home, just found out they got 4babies. i didnt know robo that i bought is pregnant. (pet shop didnt separate by gender)

now i put some tissue for them make nest. my robo put all her babies in wheel. so now i cant touch them at all for 2weeks rite? got 1 male in the cage, so far i didnt see any fighting yet. so hopefully the male will help take care the babies

izit ok if i stop the wheel from spinning? as the robo put her babies in it and making the babies rolling when she running. sad.gif
if i stop the wheel for few days, izit ok with them as they dont have space to run.

just now i put the babies in a small box to use as their nest(use plastic stick, never touch the babies with hand). and i put some tissue .
they already put the tissue in the box.
izit it will make they ignore the babies? just now they happily running on wheel without taking care of her babies. one of the babies are outside of the box and they just ignore it.

Not sure bout plastic stick but from what i know u should transfer them by grabbing some bedding in the cage along with the babies so their scent remain
The mom recognize the babies based on their scent
I will put some bedding with the babies now and separate the male ASAP!
Pls read this for more information

First , dont touch the babies.
Second , take out the wheel , its dangerous for the babies. Even i took out mine when my hamster gave birth.
Dont have to use tissue! You need the bedding so that the mom can remember the smell of the babies. You can mix tissue with bedding though.
Dont worry , the mother dont take care of the babies 24/7. When i had the wheel when my hamster gave birth , i left it there for few days so that i wont disturb the mother . She will take care of the babies eventually.
And dont keep seeing them. This may cause the mother to be stress and the mother will eat the babies!
About the baby outside the nest , its okay. They wonder around. The mother will eventually find it and put it back inside the nest.

u can try the petshop near folie folie. if im not wrong, the shop is called hup fatt. i think lar.. not too sure. but i know it is near folie folie ter.. a corner shop. i got mine from there. price is reasonable in terms of cages and hamster too. food as well. and hamster toilet. hahahaha.. i think i talk too much. good luck in looking for hamsters biggrin.gif

Added on November 17, 2011, 1:34 pm@babybb : so cute. is that cake edible? i usually gave my hamster a special treat on her birthday every month smile.gif

Added on November 17, 2011, 2:29 pmi feed my Syrian hamster with mealworms occasionally. but she is giving me a headache vmad.gif . She likes to hide her food including the ALIVE worms in her pocket before going to her hideout to 'hide' her food. ps: that is a bad hideout becoz it is open space and i can definately steal her food. Muahahahaha.. tongue.gif

The thing is, she doesn't kill the worm unless she wants to eat them. she doesn't eat worms that I killed for her! Fussy pot. rclxub.gif And of course, the ALIVE worms crawl around the cage and she is a little dumb to find those worms crawling around her cage. She only eats from her pile of hideout food. I self made the cage and it is huge. u can even fit two adult shihtzu puppies in there. so the worm is somewhere crawling, surviving, stealing her food and she cant find them. so every week when i clean her cage, I will definately find a few worms still ALIVE somewhere in her cage. And now, I have stop giving her worms already. But I can see that she really loves them. Any suggestions?

btw, i am pissed with her. she ate up all her 8 babies of her first litter. that was of coz 3 weeks ago. while my other hamster never eats any of her baby hamster that she has even in cases which i thought she will.

@reila
Nope.. That cake was just a miniature fridge magnet cake that my bf brought for him. Haha..look quite real for me.. Aww..i wish it can be eat but unfortunately it cant but he seem to like that cake very much. Kept on looking & sniffing only but i took it out anyway might afraid he will bite on it as the plastic not sure safe anot. Oh.. what special treat that you give your hammy everytime his bday? Since this was his 1st bday didnt do much special tho.. just clean his cage.. buy that miniture cake for him to play.. Haha.. & also a little bit more sunflower seeds as usual only sweat.gif

As for your worm case y not consider give your hammy dry mealworms? But it's doesnt fresh as the alive 1 but at least you can less a fuss on the crawling worm.. Haha.. My hammy like to hide his foods inside his house but everytime when i wanna clean his cage he will know abt it & quickly store back inside his mouth pouch.. sweat.gif

@babybb, i gave her hello panda biscuit. strawberry flavour. only one though. coz i sked she cant take so much of that strawberry filling. but she enjoys licking onto the strawberry filling. and also a small bit of dog treats. haha.. and i will bring her out to the garden for a walk smile.gif

btw, has anyone tasted dog treats? i find them so wangi that sometimes I am tempted to try. but i never. hahahaha..

she doesn't take the dried one. my sis usually bought that for her hamsters and i tried giving her that but she left it at the food bowl for a week, which is telling me that she doesn't like them!

edit : i love how ur hammie reacts! lol.. so adorable.

Haha.. thanks reila.. It took about 1hour plus just to capture that few photos. Seriously he just wont sit still. Haha.. pity my bf, he was the 1 who in charge of the arrangement while i'm the one who ready with my fingers on the button anytime just to capture the moments. It's not easy to get him near the cake with the 2 stranger fella beside the cake.. my bf pulak put some sunflower seeds on the cake.. He sniffs it & quickly ate the sunflower seeds that the time i capture those photos. Haha..

Oh yea.. Hello panda biscuit can be a treat as well.. y i nvr tot of that? Haha.. i have to buy biscuits treat at pet shop for him but its not dog biscuits. Never give my hammy try dog biscuits oso.. Haha.. dun noe he like it anot. I once buy a strawberry pallet 4 him as part of his treat.. He doesnt like it oso.. no touch at all.. Just sniffs & then runaway. There goes my whole packet money.. Haha..

Well , what i did for my hamster is i hold the superworm and let it bite it to death then only i let go. When my hammie was pregnant , i fill her bowl with hamster food and superworm everyday . And she got eat smile.gif.

U can buy treats like dog food/biscuit/vegetable for her. I give mine apple as a treat.
I dont suggest hello panda biscuit. Got contain milk and some hamsters cant tolerate human milk and get get diarrhea

@ix3Rukia, ewww... i dun dare to hold those worms!! I find them very disgusting and geli and ewwwww.... I usually use a spoon to scope them and give it to my hamster!!

@babybb, totally understand how hard it is to capture a nice photo of a hyperactive hamster! hahahaha.. it is easier to capture when they are young and ignorant. when you make funny noises she will stand up and start listening. now that she is used to all sorts of funny noises she never pay attention anymore. haha..

I recently found out that my hamster is jealous of me doing pedicure. everytime i did my pedicure, she will come up to me when i let he roam around my room and bite my toe before walking off. warning bite.

Or , she does not like the smell of the pedicure. Lol. The worms u need 'right' method for it to be hold or else it will keep twisting and try to bite ur finger T^T. Today , one of my guppy died and i take out and put on floor awhile , while cleaning the tank. Then when i look for it , the dead guppy missing. ( my hamster ate it while i let it run on the floor ._. yumyum protein )

Hi guys. I'm kinda new to this pet. Just bought a long-haired Syrian hamster and currently i am using this type of bedding, http://chipsi-streu.de/cgi-bin/wPermission...t.shtml?navid=1. Is this type of bedding suitable for my hamster?
