QUOTE(ix3Rukia @ Oct 18 2011, 08:46 PM) i think the hamster will sleep on it itself if it want too. Cant force them to sleep @@ my hamster is feeling hot so he sleeps outside from his house...the usual place he will sleep when he is feeling hot is under the wheel...i put the cool plate under the wooden bridge to give him that sense of "secure" since its dark....but he dont understand then just now i change the cool plate to next to the wheel & move the wheel a little bit to the middle...but he still sleeps under the wheel instead of on the cool plate hopefully he learn what it is & how to sleep on it or else i will feel like i wasted my money on it This post has been edited by infernoaswen: Oct 18 2011, 10:05 PM

I put it at outside.. Evening when he sleep he normally will stick to the cooling plate like glue while nite normally he'll sleep inside his house. I usually clean his cooling plate quite often cos he'll make dirty it. Sometime i put the cooling plate & bathing sand inside fridge a while after that will put back into his cage. He will be so fun playing with the bathing sand as it was cold.. haha.. Btw, i just wanna ask sifu at here.. Can robo hamster stand cold?? i mean if i open my air-cond 21°c can my robo stand the cool?? but usually i put his cage under my bed but i belief it's still cold.. Thank u.

Well , i dont recommend that . Robo are desert animals , so they are usually in hot places. And when it is at night , they stay inside the burrow. I guess u can keep it under air cond but not too cold .

Well, I have try putting my robo at an air cond area. They will burrow in the bedding or hide in the house. I think they are cold though. So i think they don't like it.

yeah if they feel cold they will burrow them self in the bedding or cover their house full with bedding...thats an indication that they are feeling cold...plus u will notice their fur will be thicker if u use aircon often i usually set my aircon to 23-24...anything lower than 23 my hamster will feel cold...usually at 24-25 he is ok...and i used to 24 degrees already so ok la...not that hot or cold...plus can save electric This post has been edited by infernoaswen: Oct 19 2011, 10:52 PM

Thats good to hear. At least you can have your hammy back. Its sad that they are given away just like that. Some time even hamster get attached to one owner only.

I managed to make my 6.5" wheel silent already. Instead of putting it standing on the tank floor i hang it. & the main reason why its noisy is because of the small tiny rubber material (that tiny blue color wheel) wheel at the back of the wheel. when it spins that generate the noise...so i removed that... reason why i hang it is because without that small blue wheel, if i put it standing on the floor the back of the wheel are touching the yellow plastic which then generates another noise...so when i hang it somehow dosent touch it anymore & dosent make any noise....thats for my case la...you guys case might be different...maybe if u remove that blue wheel there wont be contact to the yellow plastic...then u dont need to hang it upside down... depends on your wheel i guess.... anyway i know its kinda hard to understand what i m trying to say...so i will upload some pictures to show what i m trying to say....i will upload by saturday if i m free This post has been edited by infernoaswen: Nov 2 2011, 11:52 PM

Really no idea what happened. :'( Dont worry out of 7 babies , my hammie ate 2 of her babies. 5 remaining. Sometime it is too much for the mom hamster to take care of so many hamster , she needs protein to supply milk to the babies , so she eats the babies so other babies can survive. OR She's stress.
