CIMB is Commerce International Merchant Bank. Normally we won't put money in this kind of bank, I think. But really no idea on IIRC and BCHB.

Anyway, putting money in FD is not an investment. If really want to invest, first step is to learn about mutual fund/unit trust.

Just to share some information.

Iris share went up to about RM1.30+ from around 8-10 cents while Mobif is from around 80-90 cents and shoot to 3.60+.
So even Iris at 25 cents, the syndicate still making money from it.

I have no comment on whether it is opportunity to buy or sell. The counter is only suit to speculate not for investing for long term.

Even thou IRIS's oscillators are in the oversold area, but there are still no buy signals. The price went up to RM1.38 and drew a major resistance line and peak there, and went down the next few days forming before entering another minor bull trend.

At the near of the trend,it broke the previous high of RM1.38,but the oscillators and price movement suggest otherwise,as there is a beautifully and grand double top formed by the time the bull trend was coming to an end,and oscillators are moving sideways then downwards and it isnt showing a lot of strength when the minor bull trend occured.I pity those who bought its share when it broke its resistance.

The following days after the new high, the market entered a super bear trend, that made even drawing a trendline to link up the highs difficult.
At the moment, its still in a down trend. But there is a not so obvious bullish reversal pattern formed in one of the oscillators, still the price is far from the bands and its gonna take a while to break the trend line drawn there

Heard that a lot of people instead of saving their money in the bank, they invest in Forex lor....There's few seminar held in Kuala Lumpur about how to earn from Forex conducted by Alan C. They always advertise in the Star newspaper.

Personally think that Iris has been total manipulated by the syndicate, there is no reason for a company share's trading volume exceed (not just exceed but triple or even more) its total paid up capital EVERYDAY for 3-5 months period consecutively without any real development of company business and future.

Up or down is just depended on their willingness to push it or not only, just like Repco in the 90's (which shoot to over 200). The syndicate just making embarrassment for the SC and laughing stock for foreigner investors regarding the healthiness of Malaysia Stock Market.

Hi,

1) The one year FD with the rate of 3.7% does not require 100K.  I know because I have a FD with only 5K.

2) Do you know how to do your own calculation as to what is the actual return for insurance?? Are you certain that the return is more than 3.7% per year??

3) Buying and selling share: Have anyone look at how much commission you need to pay for buying and selling shares?? I believe that you need to buy around 20K to 30K RM worth of share and the share need to go up enough for a person to do not lose money.

4) I know I am dumb so I put my money in the bank's FD.  I know I am not smart enough to deal with share.  Plus, from my own calculation the FD return is better than insurance..

5) Unit trust -> Do you know what is annual maintenance fee for the unit trust?? It is fairly high and teh unit trust need to make enough to cover that expenses..

MichaelWong,

There is a difference between

A) taking risk to make money and

B) taking risk to let others make money from you and leave nothing or little left.

Before you take your risk, you need to know whether you are doing (A) or (B). If you don't......

Thanks for the advice, low yat 82.
As the matter of fact, i have deposited a small sum of money into FD two years ago and i am still gaining some interest now.

But i know it's the risk-free investment and of course i think most of you here agree that it will not grow as much as other investment.

I would prefer to learn or analyse other investments that would grow more in terms of money in the future. laugh.gif
