- save ur money in bank = buried underground.

1 year 3.7% interest. if only u hav 100k in bank, the inflation > interest.

check how much the interest generate VS the extra money u pay after the price of the petrol increase.

remember 10k now is not 10k after 5 years. quoted in a book:

"bank is a place where dumb people put their money inside to let the wise people use them for investment and become richer."

to earn money using money:

FD has the lowest risk and lowest return.
Share has the higher risk but higher return too. (depends)

u heard of ppl getting rich becoz of share. u never heard of anyone getting rich becoz of FD. smile.gif

Background: I have Public Bank Saving Accound, Maybank Saving Account, Trading Accound, CDS Account, SMF Margin Account.

user posted image
Maybank eShareApplication: I added my CDS account to "CDS Maintenance". It lets me save the Account No. but that's it. Nothing else happen.

user posted image
But when i click on IPO application and SMF activation, i get an error. How can i activate them?

user posted image user posted image
Can we buy in the Fund directly using e-bank? or we only can top-up money? still need to meet an agent then create an account through them? bcoz it seems like they need fundholder agent, fundholder account, and fund alias (<- wat's this?)

user posted image Is it normal that i can't access most of the menu item there?

user posted image Public Bank even worse......

Is it all the bank will be using 1 CDS, SMF Margin, Trading account that i've created? or some of them'll ask me to create new acc?

I clicked "Help" under the website.

I do not think you can do FD on line.  That option is only available to old allied bank customer that got merged into Maybank.  I had called and tried to do FD online with Maybank2u and they told me it is not possible.

i went to maybank and asked them about maybank2u. Guess wat, the staff there dunno anything about maybank2u. they dunno wat maybank2u offers, dunno wat features maybank2u has. biggrin.gif

and maybank2u's online faq or help = 0

anyway, m2u added lotsa new features this year, and it's my fav e-banking partner (out of pbb, hlb, and maybank)

Ky_khor,

Go and check out the salary thread.  There are people that earn 2K per month and save 1K per month.

i understand that. but for most of the ppl even if u save 50%, u still can't buy car/house without loan. and starting the investment only when u cleared the debt would be too late.
