QUOTE(yeowhan @ Aug 24 2011, 10:28 AM) hi all, im vip5 user and juz get my unifi set up yesterday. due to im working at da time tm ppl come my house to set up so my sis help me to observe tm ppl while they r setting up and she dono anything about testing connection sometime speedtest can go haywire....heheheh sometimes its ok...so here is the thing, when i get back home and do some speed test, weird things happen. i did go to speedtest.net using my google chrome browser and click on the 'begin test' but den error occured when try to connect with download so instead of clicking 'begin test' i click on the 'triangle' shape icon and select 'kuala lumpur' and it works so the result was quite surprising download speed was 2.7mbp/s but upload speed reach 5mbp/s another thing is i tried to download some stuff from microsoft links. if i directly use mozila firefox browser to download i oni able to get 100+kb/s but if i download with idm i can actually get download speed up to 500-600kb/s can any1 tell me they have encountered such problem before?? and fyi, i area is puchong jaya nearby KOi kinrara btw, the router im using exactly looks like this link http://imran.kifli.net/wp-content/uploads/..._set_up_box.jpg if you using browser downloader like firefox it slow, if using idm it can go high speed(full speed). this is because idm will accelerate your download using their own technology.... dont know... but i always using idm to take the download.... always give fullspeed. i just try download ubuntu, using firefox only 11kBps.... using idm, 625++kBps....hehehehe |

Just installed VIP 20 today, highrise condo using VDSL + Asus RT56U gateway, download and upload speed is amazing. Download from Microsoft or Nvidia is around 2-3MB/s. Ping time no different from Streamyx ADSL.

Unifi is installing at my home tomorrow. They mentioned something about first 15m wiring free. How about charges for those that exceed these numbers? Who do I pay to - the contractor or wait for the first bill?

QUOTE(tomsulliven @ Aug 24 2011, 11:05 PM) why hotfile.com and uploading.com so slow? only 0.5m Hotfile and Megaupload is fast to me. 566 KB/s almost constant speed. Fileserve and other sites are noticeably slower, less than 100 KB/s most of the time.and how to bypass "depositfiles.com" and "megaupload"? |
