QUOTE(msgundam @ Oct 23 2011, 06:13 PM) anyone encounter issue wih the payment when cancel of streamyx when sign up unifi. receive a letter recently from law firm suppose to be represent TM to get payment i did not make when streamyx if cancel. issue is i already make a complain to TM about the overcharging of the streamyx when i get unifi (streamyx was auto cancel when we install Unifi) but it was not cancel and they keep charging me for extra 3 months. finally when they official cancel the streamyx after the 4th month, still charge me the extra 3 months and i logde a complain at TM point and just last week get a call from TM to fax my Unifi installation work sheet from the technician and the next day receive the letter from the law firm. What should I do? Pay the extra charges 1st and hope TM will pay me back the extra (i think around rm200). the law letter, mention about 1 week to settle else will tale further legal action |

Either fried by the strike or your power quality problem (spike when power resume, my auntie's pc is dead because of the sudden spike in power supply when power resumes) Try direct to wall socket see got light or not. If no then confirm die d lo. Other equipments? All connected to same extension?QUOTE(blackorange @ Oct 23 2011, 10:09 PM) No? Ppl using also no lag/hang |

QUOTE(IwanAGP @ Oct 23 2011, 07:06 PM) Erm... In short, 1043 and 941 both are not ALL-In-One-Replacement for DIR615/TMRND(black router made by TM). With 1043 and 941, you can ONLY get Internet working by flashing them with DDWRT (allows ONLY Single Vlan Tagging while you need two different vlan tag for IPTV and internet) That means if you want to replace the DIR615/TMRND with this, it's completely impossible. DDWRT is sort of open source firmware that is not from TP-Link but from the community. TP-link doesn't make a CUSTOMIZED UNIFI FIRMWARE for both 1043 and 941. They only made it for 841 and default firmware on W8960 that supports vlan tagging on stock firmware. Wow thanks for the elaborate reply! Definitely cleared a lot of grey areas I had, will look further into the options that I have to get good coverage and signal strength in the house. What you can do here are: 1) Buy 1043/941, just hook them up after DIR615/TMRND (means DIR615/TMRND --> 1043/941) where your IPTV is still connected to DIR615. This way, your DIR615 is acting as a bridge that does the vlan tagging, 1043/941 only as Access Point (AP). 2) Buy 1043/941, flash with DDWRT, you lose IPTV 3) All-in-one, TP-link 841ND/W8960N Asus RT-N13/16/56. Looking at coverage, I can't comment much because I have only DIR615 and TP-link + I'm using in condo. No significant coverage problem but only signal strength problem. Technically, TP-link 841 with 5dBi antenna gain should be the strongest of all but 1043 and 941 comes with 3T2R mimo while 841 only 2T2R but it's 3dBi instead of 5dBi. Something hard to calculate here. See any sifus can help out. I was thinking another option I'd have is to get a Wireless Extender. How does that look as a solution? Cheers. |

QUOTE(youknowlah @ Oct 23 2011, 11:02 PM) Wow thanks for the elaborate reply! Definitely cleared a lot of grey areas I had, will look further into the options that I have to get good coverage and signal strength in the house. I'm actually reading here for a long time and just answer you what others will answer you while I didn't actually get my hands on them. But for DDWRT, you can actually set up the router (flashed with ddwrt) in repeater bridge mode. For TP-Link stock firmware, you can enable WDSI was thinking another option I'd have is to get a Wireless Extender. How does that look as a solution? Cheers. QUOTE Enable WDS - You can select this to enable WDS, with this function, the Router can bridge two or more Wlans. NOTE: If this checkbox is selected, you had better make sure the following settings are correct. quoted from my 841ND interface (basically it broadcast a wireless network, at the same time connect to another wireless network as an client) It bridges wireless network and I think it does its job as repeater *someone please clarify this. I got no equipment to try this out* Wireless extender will do its job too but I personally think that it's not worth to get extender as it's less cost effective IMO. Besides that, in my case, it happens that the router itself is the culprit that it can't handle massive amount of connections through wifi (especially when BT/p2p-ing), it drops me from wifi connection (i'm on DIR615, laptop get disconnected). I would suggest you to replace it based on my experience. *who knows it does its job well for you* |

At Least the latest problem on the underwater cable is fixed. Why I always tried go online TM Unifi to subscribe, it always upgrading and not allow me to subscribe ? It say " Thank you for visiting UniFi Customer Portal. Our system is currently experiencing an upgrade as part of TM’s effort to improve the performance of our website and enhance customer service quality. As a result, this website will not be accessible. During this time, kindly contact our 24-hour call centre at 1-300-88-1221 or visit your nearest TMpoint. Thank you for your patience. Guys, just updating my first month usage of Unifi:
So far, I've downloaded up to 90GB of cumulative data, but that's just me. But there's another heavy downloader in the household, could have downloaded double my amount All this heavy and fast downloading + HD streaming only cost me RM149 per month, so yeah, I am ultra satisfied especially coming from a P1 Wimax 2mb ex-user (RM199 with 40GB cap hahahahhaha) |

Guys, do you know how to use the second STB if I have extra? I found only one box can be activated at once... R they controlled via MAC layer or application protocol? |

QUOTE(JoBigShow @ Oct 24 2011, 10:13 AM) Guys, just updating my first month usage of Unifi: thats first 1-2 months only, after that u would have a hard time finding stuff to download. even if u do, u wont have time to finish it. For example, a whole series of animes usually 50GB and it take ages to finish watching, unless u are anime zombie who watch anime all day -.- So far, I've downloaded up to 90GB of cumulative data, but that's just me. I find that it is pretty hard to keep that 60Gb usage consistently every month for the next 12months. |
