Hi all sifus and experts, a very noob questions here...how to buy REIT? is it same like buying shares? how is the volatility? Thx ya... biggrin.gif

Same as buying shares, and normally not volatile. For those who wish yearly steady dividends. Better than FD, IMHO.

any time is a good time..because u are going to hold it for long term..so in a way its not tat volatile...

Thanks. Any recommendation on what REIT to buy? And we buy REIT is mainly for its dividend payout rite? How to determine whether the REIT is profitable? like earnings per share or.....heheh biggrin.gif

there are all together around 14-16 REIT in malaysia...so if wanna do a comparison, u'll needa look at their previous divvy payout...i'm sure ur share trading platform will have such database on the divvy payout... smile.gif
then roughly estimate the next divvy payout. smile.gif

I guess you mean the expected dividend yield by that statement. Think someone posted a link to this website earlier in the thread but I'll put it here anyway.

Don't think the withholding tax is taken into account though. As to what are acceptable levels of returns, I guess that's more of a personal preference/planning sort of thing. Hope this helps somewhat.
