"Final Income Distribution of 1.62 sen per unit (of which 0.86 sen per unit is taxable and 0.76 sen per unit is non-taxable) for the fourth quarter ended 30June 2011 "
It's their quarterly distribution.
Considering withholding tax of 10% and assuming you got 1000 shares,

Taxable portion - withholding tax
0.86 x 0.9 =0.774 sen

Then you calculate the dividend after tax.
0.774 + 0.76 = 1.534 sen (per share)

So you will receive 1534 sen per 1000 shares = RM 15.34.

Same as buying shares, and normally not volatile. For those who wish yearly steady dividends. Better than FD, IMHO.

Added on February 23, 2012, 4:51 pm1 more thing that i jsut realize on REIT. correct me if i am wrong blush.gif

everytime divvy payout, the divvy given will be deducted from the share price (eg HEKTAR giving out 3c divvy. so when it payout the divvy, its price will drop 3c)

since REIT counter volume are low, means the price will rarely go up. doesnt this mean the counter will drop more than it go up? rclxub.gif

Yes, whenever there is a dividend payout, the price of the share will be adjusted accordingly. (The money has to come from somewhere.) This applies to all shares and also unit trust during distribution.

Also need to take note whenever there is dividend announced, the demand for the share increases and the price would also go up, rite?

The attractive thing about REITs is the consistent payouts and lower tax, if there is capital appreciation that's a bonus only if I decided to sell the shares.

IMHO, you just need to fill in the dividend received form and no need to declare as income for your Mreit divs.
As for Sreit divs, since it is income derived out of Malaysia, no need to declare as income.
Anyone, correct me if I'm wrong ya.

Ya, but how do we calculate ar? Say if I have 1k share, how much would the divvy be?
*
Final 5.67 + 0.03 TE

[(5.67 cents x 1000 shares) X 0.90] + (0.03 cents x 1000 shares)
= RM 51.03 (taxed portioned) + RM 0.30 (TE)
= RM51.33

Tally with the amount you received?

Serious reply: REIT as an asset class has been more in the radar of investor starting from 2011. There are more media exposure on this asset class. The StarBiz, The Edge and Personal Money all ran article on this asset class not too long ago.

REITs was also featured in Buletin Utama not too long ago as well. And new high profile reits also receive wide media coverage. eg. Pavreit

hi, can anyone advise which REIT pay dividend by cheque and which one pay e-dividend?

Sooner or later all should use E-dividend. It's more practical.
