well, I got a call from HSBC today offering me BT so took the opportunity to ask about what MilesAndMore mentioned. Well if you got like installment, autodebit , etc with your HSBC account, there is a hierarchy on how your payment is made. The girl keep saying no need worry as my record doesn't have any outstanding balance or plans which makes me wonder why would I have problems?. Better to go with CIMB where they create a new separate account for BT approved.

hsbc BT so many T&C. Better go for DA or MBB. It also 0%.

Pay attention to statement above from a HSBC guy himself. If you ask me forget about HSBC BT, unless you want some thrill and headache later on.
I couldn't agree more !

you can and should do balance transfer before your due date. You should apply for Balance Transfer immediately after you get your statement so that the bank you applying BT with can process, approve and make payment to citibank (your example above) where you owing money before the due date to avoid interest charges.

Click my blog below for example

no separate account for OCBC. As for your answer good or not, by next month you'll get an accurate answer as this month statement is for up to last month Dec where still interest free. Read CC thread where chemistry did mentioned his (hey chem if you reading this, you male or female?) sis or was it friend so far so good with OCBC BT.

Added on January 27, 2011, 8:54 amBanka offering 0% Balance Transfer with credit cards now are as follows:

want to know, Can i do a BT to settle off another BT?
e.g. Currently I have a BT with DA for 12 months (1% pa interest).
As MBB also offers 12 months (0%, not sure still available?) So can i switch my BT from DA to MBB? The BT in DA has a separate account no which starts with 5482.

Thanks.

I wish to apply BT for my citi statement RM 1,335.69 but the due date will be 7th Feb 11. If say that's only 5 days process then should be ok.

But I haven get any card from CIMB, OCBC, PBB, HSBC and also Alliance...

For the card approval need around 2 weeks, sure cannot apply now right?

As you said, 2 weeks is so much more than the 5 days. Just make your minimum payment to Citibank and wait for the approval of the 2nd card then only apply.
