How to update ROM:
1st method:
WARNING: Make sure you have at least 50% battery capacity before continue!
1) Extract the ZIP file, rename the .nb0 file to firmware.nb0
2) Copy the file firmware.nb0 to your SD card. Make sure it is placed in the root folder (not saved in a folder) and turn off your phone and enter bootloader.
3) To enter bootloader mode, press and hold volume up + down + power buttons until you see the image of the Android logo with exclamation mark.
4) Press ‘Home’ key to show the update utility. Use the volume buttons to select the option “Download nb0 from SD card”. It is recommended that you wipe clean/format all the caches before continue with update process
5) Press ‘back arrow’ to confirm.
6) Reboot your phone, it took some time on first boot so patience

2nd method:
WARNING: Make sure you have at least 50% battery capacity before continue!
1) Download SUT L3 (recommended) and install it
2) Download the ROM you wanted to flash and extract it to get .nb0 file
3) Turn off your phone and enter download mode by pressing volume up and press power button, this text should come out after it vibrates:

4) Plug in your phone, run SUT and follow instruction. After its done turn off your phone, if it isn't open up battery
5) Reboot your phone, it took some time on first boot so patience

WARNING: Although the author said it I gonna say it again: Its not for the faint hearted, I DON'T RECOMMEND EVERYONE TO USE IT. USE AT YOUR OWN RISK. If you have basic idea of overclocking on desktop you should apply it here too.

Don't be silly and select 1.9GHz straight away, test from 1.4GHz and slowly increase the frequency and test using SetCPU stress test or play some games. DON'T use 1.9GHz all the time, you might shorten the lifespan of the phone. My phone stable at that frequency, but it gets heated high enough that the touchscreen cease to function and phone gets really uncomfortable to hold. You have been warned

the touchscreen detects heat diference on the svreen surface. am i right?
tht is y sometimes the back button camt recognise touch when the phone is hot.
try blow onto the screen. see conflicts of touch recognition.

OMG finally a really thread for Mi410 . Thanks Najmods for the the help yesterday. So far my dad has no complain on the phone after flashing to Wellcom . This problem makes me think that CSL's ROM really should be fixed. Even Thailand (Wellcom i search is from Thailand )ROM better then ours haiz. Hope this thread become more active compare to the previuos wan .

Would I be able to restore my mobile to original firmware if I download "CSL_MI410_Backup.zip" or "Mi410-FroYo_FB0-207O-0-5012-A01.rar" files available on the links you provided..?
If not, then please guide me how to backup original firmware..?

You need to update the ROM first before you root the phone.
The WellcomA99 2.3.4 is the most stable todate.

Yes it is possible to revert back to Froyo once you changed to Gingerbread, I tested it myself by using the ROM provided. You can't backup using ClowckWorkmod from Froyo to Gingerbread then back again, it won't work. You need to do clean installation, which means all cache and dalvik cleaned. All the ROM have same baseband and same kernel so no worries.

One more query... there are 2 ROMs to get Foryo back "CSL_MI410_Backup.zip" & "Mi410-FroYo_FB0-207O-0-5012-A01.rar", which one to use..?

You need the second one, it's the same as your current ROM.

The .nb0 is the file extension, if you hide file extension in Windows you don't need to do it. But I suggest you do the second method because the first method is problematic and save you the hassle by not having to rename the file and will ALWAYS work

No it's not as popular. Custom ROM is about to be launched by tj_style, which is only one who seems to have interest of modding this phone. There is others but its gone quiet

hmm try to rename the file to firmware.nb0. When in download mode your phone will keep appearing Incoming Download Mode

im using csl stock gb, batt life sucks..urs any good ur welkcom? also mine is 3_18B (ori is 3_18D) cuz of a csl downgrade n upgrade to solve a stock battery issue..batt kept increasing stead of decreasing.

The software image file does not match with your phone software...

My battery life totally bad...only can stand 6 hours every full charged..it started happen after I rooted it..before that it's can hold between 12 to 10hours on heavy use and nearly a day for normal use..I still on csl gingerbread ...still no plan to flash with different vendor's Rome.

Weird!!! When I follow the second method to change to "WellcoM-A99-V318E.nb0", it show me the error msg of "The software image file does not match with your phone software..."

But, when I follow the same method to change to "FB0-318D-0-5012-A03.nb0", it success update my phone.

The important thing is, is there a way for me to change to "WellCom A99 2.3.4 318E ROM"???

EDIT: oh i noticed. ive been on the stock CSL gingerbread 2.3.4 3_18D and had batt issue, batt % kept going up n when reset phone the % actually dropped (meaning it isnt displaying the right %). sent to CSL they fixed it by downgrading me to 2.2.1 then i asked for reupgrade back to 2.3.4, they did that, but now im on 3_18B only instead of 3_18D the ori 1. i noticed that the phone will auto reset randomly (regardless of what version it was).. once occurred random.. the other was when I was playing some Gameloft game lol.

batt life srsly sucks man the rate of battery charging is way slower than rate of battery drain.. what would u do in this situation..

I got that random restart with Cherry Mobile 318B ROM as well, the WellCom 318E fixed the problem. To save as much battery life as possible, turn off data connection (3G and stuff). I usually can get 2-3 days of battery life.

sounds interesting. any other probs u notice on the wellcom 318E? am downloading now and planning to root after dinner haha.. is there a way to backup my phone so that when recover it is as though nothing changed except the ROM?

The Wellcom file works fine with me......maybe you should try it again since you made it with the CSL ROM.....maybe try downloading the Wellcom file from another source again

I did have one problem, it won't change to other keyboard even when I forced it to. Quite annoying, end up deleting the original keyboard in order to use the custom one.

Chainfire3D won't work in Gingerbread, brightness will set at max and the 4 shortcut button light will turn off when you do it. Chainfire3D supposed to be able to emulate and run Tegra exclusive games, normal games don't have any trouble with this phone so you don't need it.

The phone has been smooth and didnt self restart when browsing since i reflash my stock CSL ROM to Wellcom . Regarding games i only started install playing angry bird .

I don't know what kind of game are Tegra exclusive, never bothered about it. Assassin Creed is not one of them, it played just fine on this phone. Tried plenty of games. H.A.W.X, NFS Shift, Gangstar Miami Vindication, FPse PSX emulator, Splinter Cell, Star Battalion and few other old console emulator (N64, GBA etc) all work well without any modification

EDIT: I not really delete it, jsut merely rename the touchpal.apk to touchpal.bak. So anytime I Wanted it I simply rename it

Chainfire 3D actually save your time to redownload (download by not paying ;-)) the correct version of .apk file which is playable to this phone.

There are GPU version for power vr, snapdragon & tegra, you might download the power vr version which our phone can't play. With chainfire 3D, we need just to change the GPU plugin to play.

Yep WellCom download speed is incredibly slow, but you can pause and resume if you use download manager/accelerator

hello najmods,i wanna ask something.i have root using nautilus.superuser n su was installed in my mi410.its ok whenopen root explore..then,i installing font changer n success.for your info when 1st time im using font changer it work..n now when i open fc,its want me to install busybox..after tat,i reboot and open fc again.but,it gimme warning box likes tis "u dont have NAND-unlocked or s-off permissions"

YES! YES! YES! It work for me!!! Finally my phone is update to WellcoM ROM! I download from the above link, and it contains the SUT L3 v1.7.4 instead of existing SUT L1 v1.7.0. So my problem was solved

OHH hehe actually i saw that you using SUT L1 v1.7.0 and i using SUT L1 v1.7.2. I didnt know that this will cause the problem . Sorry yah, i should have follow my feelings and inform you the differences. ok ive downloaded most of the files, i wanna flash the new Wellcom rom but i wanna backup everything I've installed on the phone except the stock rom. How do I do that?

Hmm not sure about the backup procedure because mine new phone so very few important stuff. You can ask Najmods, he helped me when i had problem flashing my phone to Wellcom . BTW you dont need to root you phone in order to flash to Wellcom

What kind of things that you do till your RAM drops below 100MB? Even with 3 heavy games runs at the same time it won't even drop below 180MB. Currently using the V6 Supercharger script. No extra programs needed. Autokiller and autotaskkiller done nothing good on Android phone

Yup it need root access. Backup is easy to do, just install clockworkmod, enter recovery and backup from there. Instructions from first post, read it out.

Like tj style ready to release our first custom rom anytime..OC can reach 1.4ghz and I believe it stable ..not sure about battery life after OC..UI from sharp and will using huawei keyboard..still using old kernel from original CSL gingerbread..thanks to all donaters from kakus forum and for sure big thanks to tj style

nope. its not stock old kernel. its custom kernel that tj_style build from v3.18D kernel source. then why it can be OC'ed if that is "old stock kernel"

i'm new to this mi410. jz got it recently and i flashed it to wellcome 2.3.4 due to the lagging on csl's stock rom 2.3.4. i noticed that my signal is on "R" which mean "Roaming" right? why is that? any expert here facing this issue? and i'm having difficulties connect to data. I need to enable the Data Roaming as well beside than Mobile Internet to get my phone connected to Data. By right, this shouldn't happen bcoz my Acer Liquid using Europe custom ROM oso never face this problem.

Any advice/tips/suggestion?

I bought one last week, only 2 hours after I bought the phone, I noticed there's dead pixel on it.
Shopkeeper said can exchange it for me, but he have no new stock, have to wait until he got new stock which he also dunno when he will get it.
I called CSL Customer Service, they ask me to go to Lowyat CSL Service Center.
Lowyat CSL Service Center said the best they can do it to change the LCD screen but it will takes at least a week because they have no LCD stock.
I't has been almost a week since I bought the phone but I cannot use it. I havent even put my sim card into it.

bro u got a step by step guide on how you backup your phone up to flashing the ROM?

the flashing part I get it la.. just the back up part.. dam blur. online xda all give so many stuff about NAND and downloading more files.. but Najmods just said need to follow instruction on first page.. first page shows more of how to flash the rom but not rly on full backup+recovery (of d apps + data that i want to recover)

*EDIT: my phone lagging like shit n all I did was replace the recovery.img with the CWM one.. and some auto install adb stuff on my phone x.x

edit latest: replaced the img n still lagging..sigh.im getting the 4-6 sec lag when i click the side lock button on the phone..i suspect its the adb drivers that auto installed. argh..help

I don't know how to put it in a proper word but here it goes. I noticed at the signal bar there, there's an R there. I believe if according to manuals, "R" represent "Roaming". But problem is, i'm not in oversea but i'm in Klang Valley. Network that I'm using is UMobile. So i'm unable to go online by just enabling the DATA ENABLED at Mobile Network Setting. I need to enable DATA ROAMING also. But i believe, this is very wrong. Coz on my Acer Liquid. This never happened. I just enable the Data Enabled APN and voila, I'm connected to 3G or HSDPA already.

sometimes, even worst. No R nothing...just "X" at the signal bar there...adui...nangis ...

supercharge did nothing to my phone. it still lacks of memory. get very low to 38mb. i dont know why my ram is always low even after low idle.

Why cannot use with dead pixels?

have you check ur settings to make sure that you can connect to 3G? There's a setting that limits connection to 2G only (on most android phones).

The problem with bad data network is bcos of umobile. you get R becos you are roaming. Yes, in Umobile case, when the umobile 3g signal is not available or strong enough, it will automatically connect to Celcom. On 'roaming' with celcom, the connection is terrible.

so, maybe you've set ur phone to connect to only 2g networks. So that's why your stuck on Celcom.
Or maybe its just too bad that the mi410 reception is not as good as your liquid.

The dead pixel is near the middle of the screen, very annoying, I cannot bear it.

On last friday, the shopkeeper said this monday will have new stock for me to change, then on monday he said stock haven arrive, will call me when got new stock for me to change. Until today, no new stock. A bit regret buying this phone.

Guys, please gimme some opinion on what to do next?

What does supercharger do?

Better memory management. It runs with Android own lowmemorykiller so no extra programs were installed. I don't notice much difference because my free RAM usually hovers ~200MB mark, after installing this it stays basically the same, a bit higher around ~240MB but I do see at one instance it shoots up to 311MB free RAM! So far I don't encounter any problems, opening multiple tabs in Opera and programs at the same time

arghhh my phone jus resetted even though i was on wellcom rom!! x.x

n some of my dock buttons on my go launcher is lagging..sigh..

mayb root + super charge may solve d prob cuz mebe my phone crash cuz of lack of ram

Setting number 6. I tried a few and found 6 is the best.

You could try supercharging it, its very easy to do it. I still wondering how on Earth you guys can deplete its RAM so easily
