Rooting: For 2.2.2 ROM you need SuperOneClick (v1.7 is recommended) with rageagainstthecage exploit For 2.3.4 ROM you can use manual method by following instruction here. Or follow rooting through CWM recovery method ClockWorkMod Recovery:
Tj_style from kaskus forum and xda developer board has ported ClockWorkMod recovery to this phone. Latest download link is here
CODE
This is the first Clockworkmod Recovery for device FB0, and for sure its Unofficial. Working: - Backup - Restore - Install From Zip
Not Working: - ADB - USB Mount
Installation: Extract file recovery.img from cwm-recovery-fb0-v1.zip Connect mi-410 to PC in Download Mode Wait until the message USB-Storage to appear, Replace file recovery.img inside the folder image Disconnect USB from PC Disconnect mi-410 and then reboot
Navigation: Select = Power & Search Move Up = Home & Vol-Up Move Down = Menu & Vol-Down Back = Back
Weird!!! When I follow the second method to change to "WellcoM-A99-V318E.nb0", it show me the error msg of "The software image file does not match with your phone software..."
But, when I follow the same method to change to "FB0-318D-0-5012-A03.nb0", it success update my phone.
The important thing is, is there a way for me to change to "WellCom A99 2.3.4 318E ROM"???
how long it take times?

Hi. I've been using Android phones for more than a year but it's only recently that I've been exploring updating and rooting.
I own a Cherry Magnum. I used Wellcom's 2.2 for a while and was very happy with it. Now I'm running on Cherry's 2.3. Last month, after a few weeks on it, I suddenly experienced really bad lag (on wakeup etc etc). No amount of factory resets fixed it. After not touching the phone for a few days, it just suddenly went back to normal. I rooted via CWM last weekend and experienced the terrible lag once again. In other forums, they said Cherry's 2.3 is really buggy and advised me to use CSL's or Wellcom's. I unrooted the phone (using original recovery.img) and tried to flash CSL's 2.3 (through pressing power+vol up+vol down) but my phone rejected it. So I'm going to try flashing Wellcom's. Is there anything I should do before I do this?
