thank you Najmods and pip_x for the info on the new custom rom from tj, first in the world. Will try to read up and flash it following Najmods first post. Mine is CSL 2.3.4.

One question for Najmods, when using the second method the sut is v1.7.4 while Andro-ID website recommends sut 1.8.2. Can I proceed with v1.7.4?

After flashing to this R1 custom rom, I don't need to root right? cos the custom rom is already rooted.

Thank you Najmods for the reply and bidiey_afandi for the link on SUT 1.8.2. I think I will pass on RC 1 and wait for RC 2........ waiting for more feedback on this custom rom. This phone is getting more and more exciting thanks for all the contributors to this thread.

Glad to hear the new custom RC1 rom from Tj is great...........one question though. Does it still maintain the fm radio that stock csl rom offers that operates when the headphone is plugged in. Really needs it as I use it 8 hours a day.

Hi, if u want to use gps navigation......it is like this no solution. Your phone is tracking at least 5 gps satellites before it can lock your position so be patient and make sure u are plugged in a car charger as the multiple tracking really drain your battery. What I do is, before I go into my car I will switch on the gps if I need it for my trip before switching on papago.

do a clean wipe with what software/program

backup with what software/program and which one come first, wipe first or backup first.

Thanks Najmods, finally got RC2 updated with your guidance........you are so helpful.... cheers.

Added on August 18, 2011, 8:45 pm"Anyhow enough rambling, here's the easy way:
1)Install Script Manager and download V8 supercharger script and put it in SDcard (not in folder)
2) Run Script Manager and select the V8 supercharger script, on the option select 'Run as root' and click 'Run'
3) On select scrolling speed click '1'
4) Next option use option '6' or any other if you fancy testing one by one
5) Next option select '16' to reboot.
6) Upon restart check back whether it is applied or not by running back Script Manager, if it not repeat"

Najmods, trying to install supercharger, notice your step1 mentioned supercharger V8, I can only find V6, my link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread...1126940..please provide the link for V8..............thanks..

thank you Najmods, got the v6 update 8 installed.........how does it work. Can I just leave it to run on it's own or do I have to run as root occasionally to kill the unwanted apps.

I forgot one step, you need to enable 'Browse as root' in Advanced setting Script Manager. You don't know what you just did isn't it? I suggest you read the link you posted. There's wealth of data telling what is it and how it work. Don't just be 'monkey see, monkey do'
*
Yeah, did that "Browse as root" in the conf..advance setting.
Checked mine is properly installed and running, phone very snappy and ram up from last time 80m to 180m now,....thanks again Najmods. Installed a lot of applications like go launcher ex, equalizer, swift keyboard, skype, etc all eats a lot of ram that why cannot get the 200m + like you.

I have flash to the custom rom and now my  paid license Document  To Go cannot open my documents.

Error message is "unsupported device - FIH FB0"

Is there a way to make this program recognized the custom rom?

Or do I need to purchase another license for this software?

Same thing happen to me.........cannot do office work lor. Went back to the store in Low Yat where I bought and got it reinstalled.......sigh.

whats the output resolution can be achieved ?
*

After I plugged in to my LED TV through the mini HDMI cable supplied by CSL in the original package, my TV reads the resolution as 720p. Pulling down the notification of the HDMI output you can adjust the display in the phone to match that of your TV, 75% would give a perfect fit.

I downloaded from the market, the free version of Equalizer for better sound quality. Try it you will be blown away by the impressive sound from the earphone..............I try to use it as often as I can cos I am hooked on the sound quality.

i see. i had to flash the recovery even tho i'm on RC1 because i can't find a way to get into clockworkmod recovery. the front page only says to press the volume up and power button to get into download mode.
maybe i missed it, but it doesn't say to press volume up and down and power to get into clockworkmod recovery.
*
When I flashed to RC2, I had the same problem. What I did was, using the ROM Manager to get into clockwork and with some help from Najmods...............finally falshed RC2 and has been enjoying it since.

Same here, I'm using Rockplayer, my guess is there is no hardware acceleration for certain file types

Try the Diceplayer, the hd movies play very smooth but you have to pay to use. I think you can get a week to try for free.

Got back the phone, it's working again, can turn on. But the phone got wiped, back to CSL firmware.

But there's a remark on the job sheet:
"Push Battery. Another software. Not CSL software. No warranty."

I'm re-installing RC2 now.
*
Did they charge you for re-installing CSL software since the remarks mentioned no warranty.
