Nope.. Errr... We can describe ROM Manager like.....a base to flash recovery image, flash roms that are supported by rom manager, fix apps permission etc etc.. You got options whether you want to flash CWM (clockworkmod recovery) using ROM Manager... or.... straight away flash CWM w/o using RM.

For me, w/o using RM is easier and save time (maybe a bit). Both links given is CWM but for the 2nd link, it's a customize CWM with a lot of options, not like a usual CWM. And I almost forgot, your DHD still don't have CWM, so the way you want to install CWM:

- Click 1st link, download current version of CWM 4.0.1.4
- Just follow the installation guide provided in the thread.
- Done. (Now you have a CWM recovery)

But if you want to try the CWM from the 2nd link's given:

- Download this. <--- Click
- After finish download, copy this .zip file into the root of your SD Card.
- By using 'Quick Boot', boot into recovery.
- Find Install from SD card
- Find Install zip from sdcard
- Find the .zip file that you put inside you sd card.
- Just follow the step and reboot your phone.
- Done. Now your phone got CWM.

Radio image are not included with custom rom. Only kernel included with custom roms. For radio image, you need to flash it after you flash a custom rom.

Thanks for clearing it up a bit more. Let me see how far i can get. I am going try step 2. Radio S-OFF and step 3.ENG S-OFF when i get home from work today and i will follow your suggestion for CWM from link 2.Having somehting with more options is always better than less. I will be posting more later. thank you.

You got options which CWM you want to use. Either from the 1st link or go for 2nd link. But this is your 1st time flash CWM, so you must flash CWM from the 1st link first then you decide you want to stick with CWM from the 1st link or you can go for customize CWM on 2nd link.

I believe we have different version, that why some member cannot access it.
I'd 2 version, the new green icon can't access GSC, while the older version, yellow icon can.
(but, both icon has a lot of version already, so, my assumption is not conclusive)

well i finally flashed my rom. now i am on LeeDroid HD v3.3.3 and Recommended radio 12.54.60.25_26.09.04.11_M2. i am impressed by the smoothness of the custom rom compared to stock.Yes, i am amazed myself that even without understanding it completely i have now updated to a new rom all thanks to syuki and his guide plus a few quick tips and answers.

as part of the flashing process, I downloaded and installed ClockworkMod Recovery 4.0.1.4 linked by syuki http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1003723. Followed the installation steps exactly as listed and then went to Market to download ROM Manager. I thought the CWM recovery was to install the ROM Manager itself but nothing was installed when i looked at the apps currently installed. So this step was just to "prepare" for ROM manager? What exactly was this for?

Now onto the next set of questions, i see on Leedroid XDA page there's a LeeDrOiD GB V3.2.1 - 2.6.35.14 BFS (Brain f*** CPU Scheduler) and LeeDrOiD GB V3.2.1 - 2.6.35.14 CFS (Stock CPU Scheduler). what is this? and do i need it after the rom and radio update that i've just done?

Transparency removal patch (SystemUI & Rosie)
Black transparent notif & quick settings
Default LeeDrOiD Pulldown & quick settings

and then there's the Sense 3.0 addons...

do i need them? and there's 1944 pages already on LeeDroids XDA page. i am not sure where the links are to explain all the options above. or even how to install them?

wow.. downgrading from 2.37 to root is so troublesome. Got errors here and there. Now my phone cannot search for any network operator after a failed flash of stock rom. But can still boot the phone. Downloading the stock rom now again... follow the wrong guide for downgrade from 1.8.x.

ooh no paid version ah maybe i silap lo...sorry soonlee coz i just google for the apk then i install then can already coz previously i download from market n tried also hav problem like u guys but after i installed from the apk i downloaded everything become ok....lol

anybody nearby gombak or kl area who is kind enough to show me how to downgrade, root and flash custom rom? i have tried but havent succeeded so far. thanks in advance


i followed the guide at the FP and i am stuck at this softbank rom, btw im trying to downgrade from FOTA 2.37

ghostblind acts blur. you are pro already lah. Anyway, got it all done, with lots of sweats and finger-crossing. time to try some themes and sense 3.0 mods now.

Added on August 23, 2011, 9:23 ammaybe will write an update guide later if got time. I need to combine both the flash guide at XDA and the first post here only manage to get it done. Both not that complete at some point but i did it with previous experience flashing Desire ROM.

I think from Softbank ROM need to downgrade one more time to the original 1.32 one??

yes, sifu monza84 is correct. You need to downgrade one more time. Download the ROM from step 5 and flash one more time. Then it is done.

i tried to downgrade to 1.32 but it came out with some error (if i'm not mistaken - main version is older). now stuck at softbank, mms also dont have.

btw is it worth it to buy evo 3d if u r already using dhd?
