wow.. downgrading from 2.37 to root is so troublesome. Got errors here and there. doh.gif Now my phone cannot search for any network operator after a failed flash of stock rom. shocking.gif But can still boot the phone. laugh.gif Downloading the stock rom now again... follow the wrong guide for downgrade from 1.8.x. rclxub.gif

maybe will write an update guide later if got time. I need to combine both the flash guide at XDA and the first post here only manage to get it done. Both not that complete at some point but i did it with previous experience flashing Desire ROM. thumbup.gif

I flashed mine with ARHD latest 5.2.5 rom and HTC Sense 3.0 "All in 1" (version 0.3) for Android Revolution HD 5.2.x - with USB Connection Interface 0.2, Streak Live Wallpaper, Weather 0.13, Lock-Screen 0.17, SMS Bubble Interface & Advanced Power Menu.

Selected Lock Screen (Sensation) and selected a photos folder but it won't display the pictures after i turn on the screen, just a blank screen with Time and Date display. Anything I missed or din install?

It is the main reason i flash custom rom coz i flash my wife's desire to a custom rom with this feature and it is so stunning!!

haha.... yes, finally. Should have done so initially, now so troublesome to downgrade and downgrade to previous ROM. But I think the ROM should be more mature and stable now. Din notice any force close whatsover since I flashed the ROM. The battery life is superb. Recently found my battery life on stock ROM getting worse - another reason for me to try custom ROM.

I think i wipe already coz after installing Rom Manager, I do
1. FULL_WIPE_1.5_EXT4_
2. Android_Revolution_HD_Super_Wipe
3. install the ARHD 5.2.5 ROM.
4. boot up and do titanium restore
5. rebooted few times.
6. install "HTC Sense 3.0 "All in 1" (version 0.3) for Android Revolution HD 5.2.x" after everything stable and working fine.

Shouldn't I already wipe wipe super clean everything? Or i need to wipe dalvik after step 6?

zzz.... having some nasty problems with ARHD 5.2.6, tried flashed the older 5.2.5, problem still persist. The phone will freeze once K9 mail try to sync to get new mails. It will freeze too occasionally when camera is used. Need to remove the battery every time to reset the phone - sometime will get a boot loop too. rclxub.gif Yes, i did the super wipe, full wipe, etc. So should not have any problem. Maybe my DHD just doesn't like ARHD. laugh.gif

Finally flashed to Virtuous Unity - fast, smooth and stable!! Highly recommended. The animation is super cool. thumbup.gif

i think ROM manager can do that easily. Just download it from Market. Then flash recovery using it. Thereafter boot into recovery - can do whatever format you want. But I did a custom rom flash right after that. So dun know if this is applicable to stock rom (if you are using stock rom).

you should ONLY restore the missing user apps and data. And some settings in Green colour. Dun do any batch restore especially for new ROM like 6.1 which are based on new Sense.

Tried VU 2.35 and found out it is fast, smooth and stable. As I previously has problem with K9 mail on ARHD 5.2.5 and 5.2.6, quite reluctant to go back to ARHD but since it is new sense base - decided to give it a last try. K9 mail freezed the phone once but so far ok after that. But using it less than 24 hours - need to monitor further. Initial feel is as smooth as VU.

Please refer to the source at XDA. I combine the info from first page and the XDA guide only can go thru the process smoothly. each have its ambiguity at certain junction. doh.gif

my DHD really has no luck with ARHD. Tested the final time with 6.1.0 and it still freeze my phone whenever there is an internet connection via wifi or mobile bb. rclxub.gif Flash back to VU 2.35, never look back now. fed up with the battery pulling whenever it freeze. for the pass few days, the times i open the fragile battery door is way more than i got my DHD since last year. doh.gif

haha.... after updating my wife's Desire to the new sense rom, the flying photos at the lockscreen is too cool to be ignore, so i just rooted and flash custom rom during the raya holiday. Too much free time + hand itchiness = gone the virgin. tongue.gif

tried flashed 5.2.5>>5.2.6>>6.1.0, all have the same problem on my DHD - occasional freezing when the phone is connected to internet. shakehead.gif Luckily there is the new VU 2.35 to the rescue - cool, fast and stable. thumbup.gif

Since the custom roms are developed for quite some time, they should be stable now, so time to flash it. laugh.gif

VU is Virtuous Unity - it is one step ahead of ARHD to come out with Sense 3.0.

to change the shortcut in lockscreen - personalised>>lockscreen>>choose the lockscreen>>setting>>shortcut/select shortcut>>tap on the shortcut you want to change. smile.gif

VU is on roise (sense?) 3.0 i think. If you are referring to the wallpaper, then yes, the wallpaper will now move left or right no matter which homescreen you flip to unlike usual wallpaper that shift as you flip. In addition, you can keep on flipping left (or right), the homescreen will keep spinning all the way left (or right).

Virtious Unity 2.35 has the APM too, no additional works needed. So far very happy with VU 2.35, fast, stable and smooth. I think battery life is not as good as ARHD but no a big problem for me coz it can last me up to 2 days - good enough for me.

quick answer to you question....

1. Before anything is done, connect your DHD to computer and put the USB as Hard drive. Copy the whole SD card content to your computer.

2. Downgrade and root. Install Titanium backup - do a full backup. Install SMS backup from Market to backup your sms if you want. Then connect your DHD to your computer again and copy the Titanium Backup and SMS Backup folder to your computer.

3. Flash recovery (it is a tool to help you flash/backup/restore ROM and partition your SD card). Do a backup with the recovery (this is name of the tool, not the process). After a successful backup, mount your USB storage (within the recovery itself) and copy the nandroid folder to your computer.

now you can do whatever to your DHD as there is enough backup to fall on in case anything wrong. nod.gif
