ghostblind acts blur.    you are pro already lah.  Anyway, got it all done, with lots of sweats and finger-crossing.    time to try some themes and sense 3.0 mods now.

maybe will write an update guide later if got time.  I need to combine both the flash guide at XDA and the first post here only manage to get it done.  Both not that complete at some point but i did it with previous experience flashing Desire ROM. 

I think from Softbank ROM need to downgrade one more time to the original 1.32 one??

i think ur temp root step is not complete yet. i got same problem as ur. but, i keep trying till i saw the "#" at the cmd there. it mean success temp root

the step should be
1. temp root
2.create goldcard (follow all the step
3.flash old rom PD98IMG.zip (softbank) 230mb
4.flash 1.32 rom PD98IMG.zip 287mb
5.install visionary..start root and later flash whatever custom rom u want

What problems are u facing? Doesnt matter if youare using what version, just make sure that you follow the right steps. Bare in mind 1.7x and 2.x Roms follow different instructions.

Well I tot you dont need to flash into SoftBank's ROM anymore. But still required to have a goldcard to downgrade to 1.32.

I think they just took what is needed from SoftBank's ROM for the temp root exploits.

Anyways, mine was rooted from:
stock > Softbank > 1.32 > rooted stock

Temp Root:

1. Enable USB debugging on your phone and place your phone on CHARGE ONLY (If this doesn't work, try choosing 'HTC Sync' when connecting USB)
2. Download the DHD Downgrade folder and extract it to the root of your hard drive (usually this is the "C:\" drive on your computer)
3. Run the file named "RUN THIS FOR ROOT". A command prompt will open and will begin to do the adb steps for you.

Alternatively (If step 3 fails):

1. Open a command prompt (right click "Run as Administrator" is using Vista or W7) and locate the downgrade folder (type "CD C:\DHDDowngrade" minus the quotes in CMD)
2. Run the below commands (be sure to press enter after each line)


adb push fre3vo /data/local/tmp
adb shell chmod 777 /data/local/tmp/fre3vo
adb shell /data/local/tmp/fre3vo -debug -start FBB00000 -end FFFFFFFF


If the scan hangs, just reboot your DHD and start again.

You may not get all the messages (due to flushing issues when we kill adb), but if you get kicked back to your system command prompt, try "adb shell"

If you see '#' you successfully have temproot.


Downgrade:


1. Create a goldcard:

2. Place the stock 1.32 PD98IMG.zip on the root of your SDcard/Goldcard

4. Open the file in the folder named "RUN THIS FOR DOWNGRADE". The command prompt will opn and begin to do the adb steps for you.

Alternatively (If step 4 fails):


Run the below commands in CMD:


adb push misc_version /data/local/tmp
adb shell chmod 777 /data/local/tmp/misc_version
adb shell /data/local/tmp/misc_version -s 1.31.405.3
adb reboot bootloader
5. You should see a white bootloader screen, press the power button to enter the bootloader and it should automatically start to detect the PD98IMG.zip file.
6. You will see a blue progress bar on the right of the screen while the file is being checked. You should now be asked to confirm if you want to install this ROM, press 'Volume Up' to confirm. Wait patiently while the ROM is installed.
7. Once the installation is complete, press the 'power' button to restart your phone.

You have successfully downgraded to stock 1.32

ya, summore you can do backup first b4 downgrading to 1.32 coz you already have temp root.

huhu.. last time mine was erased coz no option to temp root and perform backup.

Well, sure you want to backup your current app data.. savegame or highscore etc.
After gaining temp root, you can perform backup using Titanium Backup or MyBackup
Personally, using Sense 3.0 is kewl especially the lockscreen BUT it does have some disadvantages (to me at least) coz I use HTC Car Panel and navigation. They didnt resize this yet. So im stick to rooted stock with few tweaks that suits me

To summarized the rooting steps:

1. create goldcard
2. put stock 1.32 PD98IMG.zip
3. temp-root
4. backup your desired app (you may skip if not required)
5. downgrade
6. reboot to bootloader.. it will read & load your 1.32 ROM from your goldcard.
7. once you're in 1.32, use visionary to root
8. perform S-OFF and ENG S-OFF
9. install CWM (for installing custom ROM)
10. install your desired custom ROM

I had this bug where my radio turns on automatically after reboot. It happens when you're currently plugged in your headset.
Reported it to them but no answer.. huhu

get the full wipe zip.. use CWM to run the zip file.
BUT PLEASE ENSURE THE ROM IS READY TO BE FLASH COZ AT THIS POINT YOUR DHD HAS NO ROM AT ALL (sort of like a clean harddisk la)

yup..
1. do the fullwipe
2. install virtuous unity

first time it may take a while to load... after that enjoy with your new ROM ~ sense 3.0 

after exploring on custom ROM
u might want to try root specific apps.. chain3D, Market Access, droid VNC etc.. 

chain3D
- it allows you to play nVidia Tegra games

Market Access
- allows you to switch to other region on Android Market.. allowing you to install apps that is not available for Malaysia yet (ie. Google+).

droid VNC
- remote control your phone

Samba server
- allowing file sharing on Wifi.

many more..

You can boot into recovery and wipe dalvik cache after the last step just now..

im using Virtuous unity 1.31..if the radio recommended for that rom is not the same with the one in my dhd, should i flash radio?

As long as you feel your current radio din give any bad response to your phone, so just stick with it. 

Of course it does effect battery life..
