You must understand that the 5% rebate comes from AmEx and definitely it has lower acceptance rate compared to Visa or MasterCard. Normal Malaysia's merchants still prefer Visa and MC.

The best combo is M2Card + OCBC Ti and I'm sure many would have agreed with me. Since your income fulfills for that, I will suggest you to couple it with M2Card.

I'm using both now and still can't find any other better card that can compare with this combo.

Hi, I never had any CC before and would like to apply. Here are my details..

1. Annual Income: 30 - 33k

2. Free Lifetime Annual Fee: A Must (if No, how much is the fee?)

3. Card required for: EMERGENCIES (hospitalization, and incase short of cash towards end of the month @ awaiting salary) + Petrol + Groceries + etc

4. Existing credit cards if any: CIMB Mastercard (RARELY use, it's actually previous salary account meant for installments, now primary is RHB acc)

5. Looking at CC from: After doing some reading/research from many posts, interested with UOB One Card.

6. Others:
i. Will applying a CC affect my ongoing monthly installment? (CIMB acc for households and insurance, and MAYBANK hire-purchase acc for car; both payments always on time)
ii. FYI: All my bills are settled online. I use the BonusLink/Mesra card everytime during refill petrol at Shell/Petronas.

1. Annual Income: RM 33k

2. Free Lifetime Annual Fee: Preferable but not compulsory

3. Card required for: Petrol Cash Back/Rebate, Traveling

4. Existing credit cards if any: Supp Rewards Platinum by Citibank

5. Looking at CC from: Any bank that is legal

6. Others: I am looking for one card only, I don't wanna keep too many. I have looked at MBB 2 cards, they are good, but I wanna avoid having two cards as I don't like the hassle to maintain many, hence I would like to know my alternatives to MBB before deciding. This will be my first principle card...

Hi All,

Between OCBC titanium(5%) and Hong Leong Bank Wise Credit Card(10%), both also cash rebate till RM50 while another is R100. And of course both no points for each transaction.

Only disadvantage of Hong Leong Bank Wise Credit Card is that i'm able to select only two categories + mobile right?
*
Ya, 10% Cashback only applicable to 2 selected categories + Mobile (by default)

You Mean Citi's Cash Back Platinum & UOB One Plat. Card... hmm.gif
Ya, They Both Have Similar Cash Rebate Feature... But UOB One Platinum Better becoz,
the Citibank CB only credit the cash back earned once you reach RM50 & If the cash rebate is LESS than RM50 for a particular month, the total cash rebate amount will be carried forward to the following month... sad.gif
Whereas UOB credit the cash back monthly into the account.... thumbup.gif
