It's alrite. As long it's purely for information sharing and not bashing, we're alright with that.

I have very little idea of how the throttle body cleaning process is carried out.. Perhaps the mechanic use his own spark plugs to prevent carbon residue buildup on the client's spark plugs? Maybe he's the perfectionist type of mechanic that wants everything to look clean & shiny before putting back all the bits together? wink.gif What are the effects of carbon residue collecting on the spark plugs anyway?

I sent my car to SC this morning regarding the sound coming from driver seat front right. After SC inspect my car, they told me that is the power steering problem. need to change rubber at power steering which will cost me RM150++. I told them i have extended warranty for that and they said it is wear n tear thing? should i pay them?
*
QUOTE(Matrix @ Aug 11 2011, 01:59 PM)
Yes. Must pay. Basically, EWP is a load of bullshit...it only covers things like engine, gearbox and a few other things. All other stuff not covered. That's why i didn't even bother with getting extra 2 years EWP for my Inspira....waste money only...lessons learnt from my Savvy.

I just received this email from proton i care...

Thanks for highlighting this issue to us. For your information, the steering rack assembly is covered under warranty but, any lubricant would no be covered under the Extended warranty program.

Is the steering rack assembly is the the one that stated in this topic common problem of persona on the first page?

If I'm not mistaken, its not the rack that causes the 'klank klank' sound.. It is the fluid delivery line.. Steering rack is the long hydrraulic shaft that pushes the wheel turn left & right wan..

Revisit the Dashboard Backlight thing, the Backlight is always ON when driving, w/o switching on any light.

Yes nowday lot of car like that event Perodua as well , when engine start the meter light was on at brighter light, when you trun on your head lamp the light was still on but dimmer, it is becaus normally when ppl turn on the headlamp it was night time or at dark environment, so the meter no need too bright a little amount of light is consider ok already, if too bright it will make the driver not confortable.
At daytime the environment are already bright enough if the meter light is dim the driver will not see clerly of the meter reading so it will be brighter.
Some driver especially lady driver some time forget to trun on the head lamp while driving at night is because of this they see the meter ight on they tough the head lamp is aldy on.

ya but still not on spec mah.....if said darkness it should front and back windscreen 30% darkness and all 4 window 50%darkness....they set it because of safety of visibility of driver to see the car front and back and slao when kena speed trap cam the cam can see the driver face as well as some security camera and the police at the front and back of our car can view inside the car, the side window only allow 50% due to the Police passing by our car they can see and inspect what is inside the car.

Sorry to barge in like that guys, but I just happen to come across this post. Just some clarification note here, I do it for half the price and this is not related to any advertising alright.

Putting a used spark plug in before performing threebond is pointless. I really do not understand how do you 'short circuit' a spark plug, when the function of a spark plug is to PRODUCE SPARK BY SHORT CIRCUITING the positive electrode to the ground, to produce spark.
The black plugs would be a result of carbon residue from the throttle body, intake manifold and intake valves and will clean up over time after a few cycles of the engine running.

I have NEVER faced any problems with these 'shorted plugs' before in my 1000 cars of cleaning smile.gif.

No offense alright guys, just clarification.

oh thanks for the info. The mechanic told me is to protect my own SP. i can see the throttle head are very clean. When they open i saw a dust ring around it. shocking.gif after cleaning all shining already. thumbup.gif

They cleaning by revving and spraying the 3 bond spray through the throttle head. They told me it also clean the throttle body.

correcto. It slowly and effectvely removes carbon from the throttle body area thus allowing more airflow through after the cleaning. More air, ECU puts more fuel, equals to more powah!!
