If you're unsure of whether to pick chemical engineering or not, take PSA (process system analysis) for your 1st semester.
That subject is pretty much sum up what chemical engineering is all about. (told by my tutor)
If you're made up your mind to apply for chemical engineering, pick Chemistry (CHM1011) for 1st sem and PSA in your 2nd sem.
You can apply for EE even you took PSA and Chemistry in your 1st year, IIRC. As for Mechanical, sorry I don't know much about it.
*Between, CHM1011 is optional for chemical engineering, that's what being told by A/Prof Chan Eng Seng from last sem <- (unless they have changed it)
CHM1011 is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED because you will have to take Chemistry (CHM1022) in your 2nd year <- (continuation of CHM1011)

Hi, third year ECSE student here.
http://www.eng.monash.edu.my/engineering-a...rgraduates.htmlThe link above shows what you need to take for each field of engineering offered at Sunway Campus.
If you are torn between chemical, electrical and mechanical engineering, why not choose PSA for sem 1 and decide whether chemical engineering is your thing by the end of it. By taking PSA, you will most likely know whether you like chemical engineering.
By semester 2, if you decide to go into the chemical field, take CHM1011 and if you decide to go into the mechanical field, take ENG1050 Engineering Materials. There are no fixed electives for ECSE, but some may find ENG1030 Electrical system to be a little challenging.
You can still change units at the beginning of semester 2, but please do consult the person in charge of enrollment at the engineering office to double check this fact.
Hope this helps, cheers.
And oh, WELCOME TO MONASH =D
Alright thanks, people. Just have one last doubt. I really really think I like Physics a lot more than Chemistry. Should I give up on Chemical Engineering? But didn't they all say any field of Engineering involves mostly and mainly on Physics?
