Eh bro, my timetable won't allocate my math lecture. It says auto-allocated but the orange block doesn't appear on the timetable and I can't select either of the 3 options available. Same thing for another unit, I forgot comp lab or tutorial. Getting a bit worried here.

Also, my Mondays start from 9am to 2pm straight. I will die of cold and hunger long before then  sad.gif

hmmm i haven dealt wit allocate+ kinda long time adi so i am nt sure why...

i went directly to taylors and asked them for it. they seemed to know exactly what i needed and printed out the summary of the syllabus for me as well as the grading criteria. they can certify it as well, should be a quick process.

For Subang Jaya campus you can get it from the CPU programme office on level 1 of the Wisma Subang Jaya building. My friend from SAM managed to get it from there. Bring a photocopy of your LAN transcript and have them certify it then bring the syllabus, transcript and photocopied SPM cert to the LAN office on level 1 building 2. Monash can certify the SPM cert for you.

Quick question, our timetable is basically from the allocate website right?
which means, we have to pick it every week, and we have to check it time to time.
After we have selected our timetable, we need to attend the class we picked, everything is in allocate+ website, right?

You don't have to pick it every week... the timetable is for the whole semester... unless you are doing medicine or pharmacy..

thanks, and uh, i know that i'm supposed to go to the lecture class before i go to tutorial class, but what if i meet a situation where i don't have a choice, and have to choose tutorial class before lecture class, will that be any problem? because most of the lecture class are full, and the only choice is to go tutorial class, then go to lecture class.

i don't think such a scenario would happen.. but if you attend the tutorial before the lecture it would be totally pointless as you wouldn't understand a single thing your tutor is saying...

will never happen cause what covered in tutorials are always based on the lectures from the previous week (except the first week which is more of an intro)

dont worry bout it though, that was pnly for my accounting class cos we had a shorter sem or something compared to the australian campus(forgot why exactly it was that way) and they had to start tutes proper during the first week.

its either you wont have tute for the first week, or you wont be doing anything related to the lectures, maybe just a meet and greet or some lessons to refresh stuff i guess.

It means tutorial only for the first week? Then the rest remain as lectures only?

If you're unsure of whether to pick chemical engineering or not, take PSA (process system analysis) for your 1st semester.
That subject is pretty much sum up what chemical engineering is all about. (told by my tutor)

If you're made up your mind to apply for chemical engineering, pick Chemistry (CHM1011) for 1st sem and PSA in your 2nd sem.

You can apply for EE even you took PSA and Chemistry in your 1st year, IIRC. As for Mechanical, sorry I don't know much about it.

*Between, CHM1011 is optional for chemical engineering, that's what being told by A/Prof Chan Eng Seng from last sem <- (unless they have changed it)

CHM1011 is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED because you will have to take Chemistry (CHM1022) in your 2nd year <- (continuation of CHM1011)

Hi, third year ECSE student here.

http://www.eng.monash.edu.my/engineering-a...rgraduates.html
The link above shows what you need to take for each field of engineering offered at Sunway Campus.

If you are torn between chemical, electrical and mechanical engineering, why not choose PSA for sem 1 and decide whether chemical engineering is your thing by the end of it. By taking PSA, you will most likely know whether you like chemical engineering.

By semester 2, if you decide to go into the chemical field, take CHM1011 and if you decide to go into the mechanical field, take ENG1050 Engineering Materials. There are no fixed electives for ECSE, but some may find ENG1030 Electrical system to be a little challenging.

You can still change units at the beginning of semester 2, but please do consult the person in charge of enrollment at the engineering office to double check this fact.

Hope this helps, cheers.
And oh, WELCOME TO MONASH =D

Alright thanks, people. Just have one last doubt. I really really think I like Physics a lot more than Chemistry. Should I give up on Chemical Engineering? But didn't they all say any field of Engineering involves mostly and mainly on Physics?
