With regards to the BBusComm degree.. well, as a product of that course, I got myself a few interviews and landed a job in an MNC along Sultan Ismail within a week or two of applying on Jobstreet.

Let me share what employers are more concerned about: they are NOT picky as to which course you take AS LONG AS the course fits the requirements of the job, and that you have COMPLETED the course.

Woah, awesome that's great news.

Definately a motivator, did they care about your GPA or other grades related information??

I'll provide frank and full disclosure. To be honest, my GPA is crap, but average is 65%.

Quite a number of companies (4-5 out of 15 applied) have responded/asked me for interviews.

On another note, if you are free, just drop by Monash to ask about how to get exemptions. Their office are at Building 2 level 2. Can just ask the receptionist. Now still not much people and you can get your exemption quite fast and can fix any problems if there are hiccups. Once orientation is over there will be many people applying so if you are free better get it done first.

I spent a morning going back to school and getting my SPM photocopy certified, syllabuses of both Malaysian Studies and Moral and my LAN transcript from college. Finally it is done! I can collect my transcript from Monash anytime.

Hey guys! I'm sorry but I couldn't find any information regarding engineering double degrees. I notice that double degrees are available in Monash Australia but I can't be certain with Monash Sunway. Does Monash Sunway offer double degree options for Engineering? If yes, may I have the link to the relevant webpage? Thank you!

And oh, does Monash Sunway provide shuttle bus services for its students? Thanks!

Yes, it does.
You have to be more specific with where you are going to from Monash Uni though.
The link provided above pretty much show all the stops.
Feel free to ask me any engineering course related question (by PM).
Cheers.

Hello all! I'll be starting at Monash this February under the BA (Global) course. I've been obsessively trawling the net for any info on Monash student life for the past few months. Thought I should bite the bullet and ask here biggrin.gif

What are good, cheap food found near the campus without having to drive a car? Also, and this is a particular concern of my father's lol, are there any hazing rituals done during Orientation? I'm an older student and I really can't be arsed to attend Orientation but it's a good way to make friends I suppose so I'm conflicted.

What's the percentage of International students like on campus? Particularly for the Arts courses?

What's a good bank to use? I'll be going to Malaysia soon to open an account before I officially move there.

Is there a big fiction section in the campus library?

What are the streets like in the evening around the campus area? Is it a good idea to go jogging out of campus?

TIA!

current students can start collecting it now, but most would only be collecting it once semester begins.

good cheap food(besides on campus): the nearest would be lunchbox(reasonable prices i suppose, though some of my friend say its overpriced),and rock cafe whcih is a food court sort of place. and then there are a couple more like orange and pink which are close to rock cafe. prices are reasonable i would say, anything between rm7-15 a meal.

orientation: No hazing rituals, orientation in monash is a pretty tame affair, attend the first session and your course session at least. Don't wanna miss out on any vital information
g
not sure about arts courses, but there are pretty much 30-40% foreign students on campus if im not mistaken. Its a pretty big amount and international students at Monash tend to assimilate very well with the local kids.

As for a bank, the two big ones are maybank and cimb, but only maybank has an atm and a cash deposit machine on campur so that helps. But i do notice some foreign students using al-rajhi bank and a couple others, not sure why, easier to transfer money or something. But yeah maybank should be just fine, might wanna check up on their procedure for international students to open accounts. It can be quite a pain from what I hear.

As for a fiction section... unfortunately, no, its just two shelves... and thats it... ><"

Streets in the evening, should be pretty safe, plenty of people and cars, as for going jogging, i do see the Sunway football club guys jogging around the area in the evening. Mind you, lots of cars and there's no proper track but otherwise, it's not too bad.
