The food at lunchbox is not cheap at all... Cheaper prices would be at rock cafe...

And jogging around Sunway area isn't exactly a good idea unless it's during weekends as the area will e congested with traffic and you wil be inhaling petrol fumes most of the time.

Hey guys! Is there a blog that features a student's life at Monash? I'd really like to have a look at the facilities - the library in particular - from another person's point of view. Thanks!

ahahha if you wanna check out the library just go there and check it out man. lol.

as for student's life, do you mean all the activities and shit? @.@
for that you're better off just randomly googling blogs, doubt there's any dedicated blog that chronicles student life in monash tongue.gif

@johnconnor I've been Googling blogs on Monash student life for the past few months and trust me man, it's really hard to find one dedicated to just about Monash. You'll find a few separate entries but for that you need to narrow down your search to the specifics.

For example, I recently searched for dance clubs at Monash. Google spat out quite a bit of interesting links to blogs and Youtube videos so it helped me a lot in figuring out if I want to join this club when I get to Monash in Feb.

I've even found a particularly interesting blog by an Australian girl who went on exchange to Sunway and she provided some interesting socio-cultural commentary on student and general KL life. That's the closest thing to a blog dedicated to Monash student life I think. Unfortunately it contains only about 6 months worth of entries.

current students can start collecting it now, but most would only be collecting it once semester begins.
Ohh okay, and just out of curiosity, what are you guys intending to purchase with the use of these book vouchers?
I know the obvious answer is books, but that dosen't seems to be the case anymore haha

Hey is it normal for me to take 3 subjects instead of the regular 4? I failed one of my subject last sem, so my parents decided I should take 3 subject and extend another semester to bring up my grades.

Yeah its possible if you don't mind the extra costs of time and money. But u may also have a possibility of having no close friends in your final semester since most will have graduated.

Yeah that thought does go through my mind. But this is an attempt to make my grades better so I will have a better chance for employment after I graduated.

Hello all! I'll be starting at Monash this February under the BA (Global) course. I've been obsessively trawling the net for any info on Monash student life for the past few months. Thought I should bite the bullet and ask here biggrin.gif

What are good, cheap food found near the campus without having to drive a car? Also, and this is a particular concern of my father's lol, are there any hazing rituals done during Orientation? I'm an older student and I really can't be arsed to attend Orientation but it's a good way to make friends I suppose so I'm conflicted.

What's the percentage of International students like on campus? Particularly for the Arts courses?

What's a good bank to use? I'll be going to Malaysia soon to open an account before I officially move there.

Is there a big fiction section in the campus library?

What are the streets like in the evening around the campus area? Is it a good idea to go jogging out of campus?

TIA!

We have Maybank and RHB on campus in monash, and CIMB ATM's down the road inside sunway uni.

With regards to personal safety, it will be rather boring to jog around the campus or on the treadmill, but it is certainly safer. The roads around sunway area "are not fit for humans to walk" without risking your life to traffic, let alone criminals.. the pavement suddenly ends etc.

I'm in need of opinions regarding the bachelor of psychological science & business course at the subway campus. Does it comes with honors? I just received my A-levels results from the total of 3 subjects ( Biology, Mathematics and Chemistry) and it's more than enough to qualify for the course but just 1 mark short from the pharmacy course requirements which I intended to take up in the first place. Anyways, how's the course structure and all? Thanks in advance! Cheers!! Appreciate it much for a fast reply as the dateline for final registration is near.

For a 3 year course it doesn't comes with honours... for the course structure you could always look it up and Monash's website...
