@johnconnor I've been Googling blogs on Monash student life for the past few months and trust me man, it's really hard to find one dedicated to just about Monash. You'll find a few separate entries but for that you need to narrow down your search to the specifics.

For example, I recently searched for dance clubs at Monash. Google spat out quite a bit of interesting links to blogs and Youtube videos so it helped me a lot in figuring out if I want to join this club when I get to Monash in Feb.

I've even found a particularly interesting blog by an Australian girl who went on exchange to Sunway and she provided some interesting socio-cultural commentary on student and general KL life. That's the closest thing to a blog dedicated to Monash student life I think. Unfortunately it contains only about 6 months worth of entries.

Thank you so much for your reply, bluetowels. Would you mind sharing me the links you mentioned? I'm busy applying for Nottingham and Singapore Universities at the moment so I would really appreciate your help.

P.s. GAH Adobe Acrobat Pro is so confusing! Filling up a form with it is like trying to defeat Superman.

I took Ausmat, applied to enter monash, they told me I need to get at least 59 marks for my English as additional dialect to skip IELTS, they will not see my GCE O-Lvl 1119 english score, unless I took A-levels. Is that true? cuz It's really dumb, I went there 3 weeks ago to submit my Ausmat's result and Spm result and a copy of my IC. Interestingly, the lady didn't told me about taking IELTS, but just now I went to there again, to pay the fees (finance closed), so I asked them about the mail I received, they need a certified copy of my language proficiency test, and told me If I get below 59 for my EALD, i need to take IELTS. Anyone know about it?

You have completed University of Cambridge GCE O Level 1119 English language with a grade 'C' or better, and have subsequently completed A-levels (a validity period of 3 years from the date of exam taken applies).

I'm in need of opinions regarding the bachelor of psychological science & business course at the subway campus. Does it comes with honors? I just received my A-levels results from the total of 3 subjects ( Biology, Mathematics and Chemistry) and it's more than enough to qualify for the course but just 1 mark short from the pharmacy course requirements which I intended to take up in the first place. Anyways, how's the course structure and all? Thanks in advance! Cheers!! Appreciate it much for a fast reply as the dateline for final registration is near.

No it does not come with honours. You'll have to get good grades and apply for honours when you completed your 3 years degree. This will all be introduced and explained in detailed during orientation.

Psychology and Business isn't exactly the same as Pharmacy. It's what the name says - Psychology and Business study. For every semester, you'll be taking 2 psychology subjects and 2 business subjects. The business subject will be from the business major you wish you pursue in, e.g. Marketing, Management, International Business, Accounts, etc. In the 1st year, you'll be taking 1 psych subject and 3 core business subject for each semester.

The bulk of psychology marks are in lab classes and reports/assignments, final exam is fully MCQs for all the psych subjects. You'll be learning about theories, some bio stuff, how to do researches, analysing data, writing reports and all that. For the business subjects, it'll be the same subjects that the Business students are in.

Psych and Business is not a double degree. It's a double major and honestly, the workload isn't that heavy.

Nothing is necessary. I took psychology cause I had interest in psychology but business was still my main thing. My batch only had around 30 students or so taking that particular degree. Psychology is not about reading people's mind. So I don't really understand where you're coming from with the 'necessity to include psych into business' thing. smile.gif
