Yeah, its nice to have, but not essential, especially for those who only transfer files once in a blue moon laugh.gif

Can consider these:
Dell Vostro 3350, i5-2410M + AMD HD6470@RM2636[2.04kg], backlit keyboard, Belkin HDMI cable, 1 year accidental damage warranty

Sony Vaio VPCSB26FG, i5-2410M + AMD HD6470@RM3299[1.72kg], colors: White/Silver/Pink/Blue/Black

Not sure whether the Vaio has backlid keyboard or not {probably not) laugh.gif

As small as possible?
This one then:
Acer TimelineX 3830Tg, i3-2310M + Nvidia GT540M@RM1999[1.9kg] *this one can get hot and has throttling problems though laugh.gif

Otherwise, moving on to 14" laptops:
Acer Aspire 4755G, i5-2410M + Nvidia GT540M(2GB)@RM2199 , 3 years warranty
Asus A43Sv, i5-2410M + Nvidia GT540M(1GB)@RM2349[2.44kg]
Asus N43SL, i5-2410M + Nvidia GT540M@RM2699[2.4kg][Bang & Olufsen] *No USB3.0
Dell Inspiron 14R, i5-2410M + AMD HD6630@RM2299, *Big Giant Plaid!Lid

I would suggest you to try bargaining on the N43Sl and see whether you can get until RM2.3k or not, its really worth it, a good all-rounder nod.gif
Or if you can wait, rumors is there would be an AMD HD6730 powered Asus coming up in September

Again, its only important if you transfer files alot laugh.gif
If budget is limited, the Asus N43Sl would still be worth it even without the USB3.0 imho... depends on the user

I'm making comparison between a43sv-vx073v and a43v-vx053v.
Both same spec except for:
1. HDD 640gb vs 500gb
2. Graphic GT540M 2gb VRAM vs GT540M 1gb VRAM.

I wanna ask if the graphic ram really make the big difference? btw, i'm going to use my laptop for paper works, engineering simulation, and medium gaming. If graphic ram doesn't really matter i'll go for 1gb VRAM.. need advice thanks!

There is not performance difference between the 1GB and 2GB GT540m, hence just go for the cheaper variant... you could always get an external HDD for bigger storage capacity nod.gif

My brother suggest Dell XPS 15/15z but if there is other laptops with smaller screen and backlit keyboard, I prefer that.

Dell XPS 15/15z is not exactly what we call small and light laugh.gif

For a 13" laptop, the Dell Vostro 3350 is a good choice.

If 14", then:
Dell Vostro 3450, i5-2410M + AMD HD6630@RM2577, backlit keyboard, Belkin HDMI cable, 1 year accidental warranty

Toshiba Satellite P745-1001X, i7-2620M + Nvidia GT525M@RM3299[harman/kardon], backlit keyboard, Transformer flash drive

Sony
Vaio VPCCA15FG, i5-2410M + AMD HD6630@RM2999[2.45kg], backlit keyboard; colors: Orange/Pink/White/Green/Black/Blue/red; 2 years warranty [promotion ends 4 Sept]
Vaio VPCCA16FG, i7-2620M + AMD HD6630@RM3699[2.45kg], backlit keyboard; colors: Orange/Pink/White/Green/Black/Blue/red; 2 years warranty [promotion ends 4 Sept]
