If you guys really want this to be an extension of the /k/ subforum, then so be it. Sigh.
Won't mention anything anymore cause as usual, the majority wins.

Ur right, this forum has changed a lot from a long time ago when I was here...I remember back then arguing with Starghazzer over the looks of Delta Plus vs Delta Gundam...haha. This is a modelling thread though, so I should think that ppl are allowed to post their WIPs and completed models etc. What else would we talk about? Technically talking about Gundam series etc would be inaccurate because this isn't an anime thread, it's a modelling thread. But I don't believe in that, I believe we should be able to talk about anything Gundam related. So I suggest everyone lower their tolerance over what can be posted and what cannot be posted (asides useless spam)
[/rant]

Now that I'm done ranting...what other ms would you guys like to see get the MG treatment? (Or in some cases, the MG 2.0 treatment)

Thanx, I forgot about this link..saw it in office  sweat.gif

Sent them an email, will update once they've replied me and see how it turns out  smile.gif
Sounds like a real good option..so vPost sent the package from Japan to your friend's house here? And your communication with Bandai was in English from start to end? How long did it take for them to respond to you?

Thanx for your idea, this could really help us a lot here who can have occasional butterfingers  sweat.gif  sweat.gif

yep, in English, and the officer who deal with me name Hana, I wonder how she looks like... (and our email conversations goes up to 41++ coz many things ping pong back and forth)

added to that, stop some sour grape ppl from nonstop criticizing others from buying/liking certain model which they don't like (or can't affort). Such behaviour really kill other's interest on gunpla.
(purposely separated this post so everybody can read)

anyway... 'thanks' to my evil friend from cheras, now I'm terribly poisoned by this:

IMO I would love to see this type of posting. to appreciate the hard work (and maybe poison myself for more gunpla hunting tongue.gif )

...  unless there's a thread which can post the completed kit photo in LYN... do we have it? maybe senior can share share if we did.
*
We used to do it at the WIP and Mecha Modelling Gallery Thread.

[Off Topic] Also, does implying that people criticise something because they cannot afford it really make you feel better? I am rich therefore I am better syndrome? Honestly I would believe that the majority of the peeps here have quite a fair bit of loose change, gunpla is a hobby afterall.

I wager that someone stepped on your toes when you got the PG SF? That kit really got mixed reactions - some love it, some hate it. Like most things associated with Gundam Seed. Strange.

But you like it don't you? Shouldn't that be all that matters? Maybe getting along isn't so easy after all.

I would prefer that the 2.0 remakes be put on hold until Bandai releases the other robots that have yet received the MG treatment, especially now since they have already stated that MG releases will be rationed due to the poor economic situation.

at least the so-called "sour-grape" have reasons to criticize the models.
and criticizing is subjective. it can be constructive if u look at it from another angle.
after all it's still your choice if u like that kit, if u still want to buy it despite its (discussed) flaws, then by all means.. go for it.
(i have one kit i wanted, been discussed in past few threads of it's flaw, that hindered me abit from getting it. but if i have time for it i'll still get the kit and try experience building it myself, coz i liked the kit. where's the killing of interest?)

not gonna impose some stupid ruling that all opinion be marked with "sorry if might be too harsh here, it's just my 2cents", are we? chill abit, dude. smile.gif

and IMHO, repeated posts are really kinda annoying (even more those not related to gunpla), it'll be helpful if u just post the completed kit here, review it if u want, don't posts WIPs as those are repetetive in a way. for me it doesn't really matter if it comes to the skills, as we're reviewing the kits itself.

SEED series seriously need some grunt units MG, though the only grunt worthy to be made into MG is Blaze Zaku Phantom
n Bandai need to stop its unfair treatment for 00 units, other unit other than Setsuna's ride need MG treatment too

1. The ankle joints are pretty firm, both Blue Frame and Gold Frame Amatsu, regardless of the high hill smile.gif
2. The torso/waist joint have no problem as they are connected with a peg instead of ball joints. Is just that the common flaw for SEED related mecha is that they have huge backpack and sometime is too back-heavy, being it NG or MG.
3. The backpack is connected to the body with 2 polycap, like Red Frame.
4. The head is pretty alright... at least is better compare to the chin piece on Blue Frame tongue.gif But we could always glue it wink.gif
5. Broken parts? there are many small pieces but none broken so far wink.gif

The 1/100 Blue Frame is alright to me as I have 1 myself. It is just personal expectation, especially when you compare it with the MG version, MG will always be better. (I do not have the MG Blue Frame but I'm sure you would have the same problem if you are attaching the tactical arm to it's back wink.gif)

Cheers  cool2.gif

Not arguing lah... "arguing" makes it sound hostile.
It's more voicing out our personal preferences for different units.

No problems with posting WIP pics, in fact I can even tahan photos of whoever's latest haul. It's the random chit chat eg talking about so and so's avatar pictures and stuff that's annoying. But as said before, I really don't care. Tutup satu mata...

Haha...call it soft arguing/discussing la...lolz...the hauls and WIPs I don't mind either, I get that there is probably a separate thread to do that as madmoz mentioned but I can still tolerate that stuff. But you're right (and madmoz too), the random one line posts and comments etc is kinda off-putting

Correction to my point 2...

2. The torso/waist joint have no problem as they are connected with a peg instead of ball joints short ball joints that acted more like a peg so no much effect. Is just that the common flaw for SEED related mecha is that they have huge backpack and sometime is too back-heavy, being it NG or MG.

Is there any reason for the shoulders to open up? Maintenance? Or to make the model look cool? hmm.gif

Been wondering if gunpla is moving away from sensibility to a purely 'makes the model kit look good' - i.e. we are not building model kits of robots, but instead watching shows of model kits turned into anime. laugh.gif

A good case in point would be DW:G3 that i mentioned before. If you look properly, the gundams there even have that horizontal bit under their skirt where we attach the leg pegs!

but PG RX-78 shoulder armors opens in a different way.

user posted image

PG's more towards maintenance orientated, i.e. outer armor separates from inner frame. Whereas the one nazrul posted is more like Strike's shoulder armor (of which opened to fit with parts from launcher and sword).

ah... I don't know why it provokes u... what I said earlier is totally nothing to do with you...

anyway, this is why I still bought the kit, build it with all my heart and happily finish it. You should really see how the [SG] ppl non stop implying buyer of PG-SF are stupid, careless in many pages, and find every single opportunity to poke fun of it.

And since you guys discuss abt what shld be posted and what shouldn't, hence I take this opportunity to raise up this point. (Previously all I did is ignore that person's arrogant, rude posts and continue build my beloved gunpla) Hope this thread can be a more friendly environment.

haha bro, yeah, if a design of a model kit is bad or so, it's aaaalways ok to point it out for everybody's reference. (like me , hard hard also go buy mwahahaha) But nonstop criticizing it and it's buyer are definitely not a welcomed action.

Speaking about Metal Builds, those don't require any assembly right? Saw the cost of one 00 7 Sword at BTS, was around RM200++ RM400 iirc..was thinking, wtf so expensive..it's just a metal version of the upcoming MG, just heavier due to all metal and fully decal-ed?

EDIT: price updated to prevent further shock doh.gif
