Well, some people are facing problems from 1.5 as well. Its always safe to backup first. Most people solve their problem by flashing 1.5 again and then go to 2.0.
Sigh..it used to be so easy..

QUOTE(Fallenangelz @ Jul 11 2011, 11:24 AM) I did not flash 2.0 yet, but you can try first. Just rename the old one and copy the attached file. See if this approach works. This is from Darky XXKG1. This post has been edited by Bugeca: Jul 11 2011, 11:30 AM Attached File(s)

Yesterday I ranted about new users asking me questions which the answers are there if they even bother to read. Yesterday and this morning in total 5 PM to me asking essentially this : " Litening rom I want to flash do I need to root or not ?"
I find such questions really depressing and just irritating when such new users want to flash a rom and clearly never bother to read features of the rom . I quote here taken from Litening thread his very FIRST sentence about his rom: Note The Lite'ning Rom v1.0 will not wipe your apps and data and it's not necessary to root your SGS II before you can flash the Lite'ning Rom. After flashing the Lite'ning Rom your SGS II will be rooted. So, to those new users who I have burst out - very sorry. To up coming new users who plan to flash any rom, please read the rom features. Ask only if you do not understand after reading. Don't even bother to ask if you did not even take effort to read |

QUOTE(vkyip @ Jul 11 2011, 10:40 AM) Sifus.....now I am ready to do my first ROM, as recommended by uncle Benny, I shall try Litening ROM first. But my question is: I want to revert to stock if something goes wrong, so do I have to buy an Micro SD card and then use Nanbackup to backup first? Sorry if ask wrong or duplicate question. Thanks in advance. All backup will go into your internal SD card : you will see folder clockworkmod/backupHowever it is a GOOD practice to copy this also into a external micro SD card as another backup This post has been edited by benny888: Jul 11 2011, 11:43 AM |

QUOTE(loloz @ Jul 11 2011, 10:44 AM) Hi Nicregi, mind telling me wat is soft & hard reset? how can i do it? Sorry a bit noob here as tis is my 1st smartphone. Soft reset is just to restart your phone - nothing will change - it will clear files that jam up your phone at cache. Just switch off and switch it back on. If you are on a cook rom - you might see additional options for you to select " Reboot"Hard reset - will wipe phone clean and give you back a stock status just before you install any apps, data etc - refer page 1 FAQ I written a long post on various hard reset methods |

QUOTE(loloz @ Jul 11 2011, 10:44 AM) Hi Nicregi, mind telling me wat is soft & hard reset? how can i do it? Sorry a bit noob here as tis is my 1st smartphone. Sorry late reply. Here you go:When you want to pass on your phone to some else it is a good idea that you wipe out all the data on your phone so that no one can get access to your personal data. You could also perform a reset if you device is frozen and not responding to your command. Note: Performing the below actions will erase all your personal data, so if there is any data that you would like to keep please back them up first so that later you could restore them if you like. If you are ready, then here's how: Software Reset 1. Go to the Home screen. 2. Go to Settings. 3. Select Privacy. 4. Select Factory Data reset. 5. Select Reset Phone. 6. Select Erase Everything. You devices should be resetting now. Hardware Key Reset 1. Switch off the phone. Pull out the battery if you device is not responding. 2. Now press and hold down the volume up + volume down button. Then press and release the Home/Power button. 3. Next the phone will present a menu for you to choose, select Clear Storage. 4. Confirm if you want to go ahead. Alternative Also you could try to key in *2767*3855# and press dial. Copied from Page 1 thanks to Uncle Benny |

Guys who wants to flash rom, JUST DO IT alright?
Samsung's android phones are very very very hard to brick! It is almost near to impossible. Just go experiment it, if you face problem then post it here, don't disturb other people without reading first. |
