1) just flash the .tar file..no need extract..use ODIN tick PDA...open from pda..

but, based on the guide, need to push zimage file into sd-card, then flash stock kernel, then using CWM, flash the zimage file.. but i cant get the zimage file, how?.. or NO NEED the zimage file? just flash the stock kernel, and done?

Download 7-zip to extract .tar file. the zImage file is inside the .tar file. Not sure if flashing from the .tar itself will work. I myself bought the jig to remove the exclamation mark.

Kinda feel this thread is getting more and more rubbish questions.

Anyways, incase anyone is wondering..

I tested both Lite-ning 2.0 and Villain 2.0. For me, i still prefer Villain. I thought of going to Lite-ning as usually that rom does not have problems with the stock browser but it seems the dev even removed the stock browser and replaced it with SkyFire which i feel its totally crap

I just tried this out of curiosity:

I JUST FLASH THE STOCK KERNEL FROM ODIN, in ODIN, click PDA, choose the stock kernel only, then start flash. phone reboot, THE YELLOW TRIANGLE GONE! no extra step, thats it. DONE.

so i wonder why there are extra steps in the guide to push zimage into sd-card and flash it thru CWM. << in my case, NOT NEEDED TO BE DONE

Performance tweaks / deodexed only..  Doesn't mean there will be visual changes inside the ROM itself.

In Android file system, applications come in packages with the extension .apk. These application packages, or APKs contain certain .odex files whose supposed function is to save space. These ‘odex’ files are actually collections of parts of an application that are optimized before booting. Doing so speeds up the boot process, as it preloads part of an application. On the other hand, it also makes hacking those applications difficult because a part of the coding has already been extracted to another location before execution.

THEN COMES DEODEX

Deodexing is basically repackaging of these APKs in a certain way, such that they are reassembled into classes.dex files. By doing that, all pieces of an application package are put together back in one place, thus eliminating the worry of a modified APK conflicting with some separate odexed parts.

In summary, Deodexed ROMs (or APKs) have all their application packages put back together in one place, allowing for easy modification such as theming. Since no pieces of code are coming from any external location, custom ROMs or APKs are always deodexed to ensure integrity.

Step 1: To install villain rom, CF Root is a must, try to use the latest CF root 4.0..
download CF Root 4.0巋笒痩 and apply using odin
- Follow these instructions to the letter. Do not touch any buttons or checkboxes that are not listed below to touch!
- Unzip the attached CF-Root-xxx-vX.X.zip
- (USB) Disconnect your phone from your computer
- Start ODIN
- Click the PDA button, and select CF-Root-xxx-vX.X.tar
- Put your phone in download mode ( shut down ur phone and then press volumedown+power+home button)
- (USB) Connect the phone to your computer ( need to install kies or android sdk usb driver, find it in the first page)
- Make sure repartition is NOT checked
- Click the START button
- Wait for the phone to reboot
- Done and u must have CWM apps in u apps drawer
Step 2: Download the latest Villain Rom痩and copy the file into ur sdcard via usb.. (usb debugging mode is must)
Step 3: Try to backup data using titanium backup or nandroid in case u need to wipe data partition

Step 4: Boot to CWM recovery mode

Step 5: if required wipe data, this will optimised the system if u are coming from different and have flashed many rom before..

Step 6: Install the Villain rom zip through Install zip From SD card

Step 7: reboot( take about 5 to 10 minutes)
Step 8: Enjoy villain rom.. free your android( try install vrtweaks to apply fix)

Ermmm... i tried to seatch for my fav games in Market.. such as ProEvolution Soccer 2011, asphalt 6.. But cant see it..

Is it the apps not available in market, or i need to use the "market enabler" first? Not sure ehat market enabler for, but i tot it only enables us to buy apps. anyone pls help..thanks

try flash cf root inside first, flash the wipe cache and dalvik, flash cf-kf2 root, then flash litening rom, then clear cache&dalvik again if u hit bootloop, i followed this and didnt encounter the error

things i enjoyed in the new version,
the new swype keyboard rocks, having the recommendation at the bottom is alot nicer =D
galaxy on fire 2 no longer has graphic glitches! now i can enjoy the superior beauty of the game!
asphalt 6 runs smooth! 

other than that i dont see any new improvements, battery still dies like nobody business
