my sgs2's battery is running out very fast, is rooting the only way to prevent this?

p/s: i already done all the minimization thingy like brightness, wideget gt it almost all at minimum, tone off, and vibraton.....

I'm at McD at the moment, been using wifi on my SGS2 for about 2 and a half hours-now switched to my iPad cos battery left 50%

I'm pretty impressed by it

Considering I've been switching To and fro between google+,twitter,ym,ebuddy,Facebook,surfing,playing music..I'd say that's pretty damn good.
Brightness set on auto,Bluetooth on, live wallpaper with widgets running.

In comparison right now my iPad is merely running the web browser

I agree, EDGE is good enough for MOST tasks, but do you know that in certain conditions, EDGE has a nasty tendency to block SMSes and calls from coming in while data is active? Read up on GPRS classes.

It's not a phone thing, it's a telco thing. It happened with my Nokias (E71, N97, 5800, N900) and my iPhone 4 - it WIILL happen with the SGS2 unless Celcom decides to CLASS A all their EDGE transmitters.

AND no, Maxis is NOT the answer, not with their current cekik darah billing practices.

Anyway, WHERE IS MY BATTERY CASE SAMSUNG OII. I bought the SGS2 because YOU were supposed to make a battery extender case for it.

OK. First you need to upgrade from 2.0 to 2.1 first via CWM. In CWM, Select FLASH UPDATE, then navigate to you SD_CARD where you put the download ZIP file. Select that file and CWM will do the flashing. REPEAT the same process for 2.2 update.

Done.

Do not unzip the files. just copy to SD card root directory.

The instruction is there. You have to read through the thread. I did.

I put my name in maxis klcc around the 24/25th of june and they only called me last Sunday .. Though the volume of bookings must be lower now so hopefully you can get the phone before the Friday deadline for discounted price

Sure you are looking at the right place in CWM? You should look at external_sdcard folder and not sdcard folder if you have put your file in the Sd-card.

hi all, i just went to bon odori and use my gs2 to record HD video
to my surprise it is quite lag when trying to record video (firework) at low light
is my unit defect or what?
coz my fren using samsung wave is able to record the same HD video very smoothly
i notice that when the cam trying to focus the firework, that is when the lag kick in. any one facing same problem as mine?

Added on July 17, 2011, 3:32 amguess you do not understand the definition of 2G. obviously data has to be enabled first and if your data is enabled and connected to 2G network (GPRS), i dont see the reason why you cant get push mail
