I agree, EDGE is good enough for MOST tasks, but do you know that in certain conditions, EDGE has a nasty tendency to block SMSes and calls from coming in while data is active? Read up on GPRS classes.

It's not a phone thing, it's a telco thing. It happened with my Nokias (E71, N97, 5800, N900) and my iPhone 4 - it WIILL happen with the SGS2 unless Celcom decides to CLASS A all their EDGE transmitters.

AND no, Maxis is NOT the answer, not with their current cekik darah billing practices.

Anyway, WHERE IS MY BATTERY CASE SAMSUNG OII. I bought the SGS2 because YOU were supposed to make a battery extender case for it.

Sigh.
*
i dun understand. you mean this only happen to SGS2? been using this phone before it launched and running on Celcom line. i never have any issue as mentioned by you.

Hi Uncle Benny

Please add me to the list, I have just upgraded from SGS1 to SGS2 a couple days back with 32gb class 4 external micro SD, 4800 mHA Yoobao power bank and SP.

It's stock with GB 2.3.3 and I installed GO Launcher and GO SMS Pro which just suits my needs for now.

I have passed my SGS1 to my wifey, IMO it was much much better in terms of stability, remedying the lag issues, and especially integration to Exchange after I upgraded it to GB 2.3.3

I have been following your blog, SGT, SGS and all SGS II forum since v1 here, i personally find it is very informative and useful. Thank you to you and most of the folks here for sharing and especially constructive feedback.

It's a great phone and I really like it. I have expected the battery and heat "issue" highlighted by some folks here, but its a non "issue" for me and I can live with it as all other benefits outweighs this, just my 2 sens:-)

Thank you again and please keep up the great work!

Hi all, I'm looking for a good flip case for my SGS 2. All the one I saw in Plaza Lowyat shops last week a bit chunky, would like to get one that is slim. Got any recommendations?

After close to 3 weeks using this phone I realized that;

Battery dries out from 11pm (Fully charged)
to
Next morning 10am (27% Remaining) not sure due to apps that I have. Just live wallpaper and 3G enabled, everything turn off.

I also realized that sometimes I will not get any 3G / H+ Signal at all, I have to reboot my phone to get the signal back.

Any advice?

Disregard and use ODIN to upgrade to 2.3.4. Mine says the same thing.
