okay, first thing first, what is lemon chip? before unlocked, i can go up at 3.6, but after unlocked to get to this, i already increase vcore to 1.38Xv.
after i tell u this, do this advice
still applies? sry, if what im asking is pretty obvious for u ppl.im still new.

okay,i will reseat my gc now. will post new screenies later. thanks.

Added on November 16, 2011, 3:13 pmi tried reseating my gc, still at x1.
i tried overclocking pcie from 100mhz to 101mhz, still at x1

use cpu-z and gpu-z to check. both same result at x1.

any ideas?
*
oc the pcie wont change that.

clean the gold pins using eraser.see how

lemon chip is the processor that performs below average..i currently using b55 3600Mhz with 1.37v. well, if cant make it 3.6Ghz, then depends on u the speed ok or not..kekeke

bout the gc, done. yup, i cleaned the gold pin using cloth. OC 3.6 at 1.37? wow. maybe mine is lemon chip. =.=

Added on November 17, 2011, 1:06 pmit seems, i have the weakest chip of all. >.<
CPU-NB cant get stable at 2365 tried at 1.5v. crash...

I think the problem is with the ram. Try lower the ram frequency. Your proc is C2 stepping.

I suggest try to oc one by one. For example first cpu, then nb and lastly ram. The fact that your proc is c2 stepping may hinder oc more than 3.8ghz@3.9ghz.

hurm, i retry again this morning, following this guide

it says to overclock Ram, followed by CPUNB, later on CPU. i just finish prime95 for sharp 3 hour. any other setting i change from this, will give me crash reboot, or core 3 n 4 worker stopped in prime95.

this is my current settings:

if i try again, by overclocking cpu first and lowered the ram freq, will i gain more clock for cpu n CPUNB? thanks for ur reply.

p/s:now my; vcore = 1.39v, vcpunb = 1.28v, Vdram = 1.66v

i have tried CPUNB 2360mhz, vcpunb till 1.5v, still crashreboot. (sometimes when enter windoes, it reboot, soemtimes crash till blendtest with prime95).
also tried CPU 3332mhz, vcore till 1.43v, same result as above.

guys.. i unlock and OC my proc. phenom II 555 to B55 @ 3.8ghz at 1.37v.
i only up my multiplier to x19 and bus speed at 200mhz. i stress it with OCCT for 10min. and its stable and gaming it for few hours also no crash at all. Is there a need for me to stress it again for 1-8 hours to test its stability?? 1st time OC here.. kinda noob..

i tried OC to 4.0ghz at 1.40v, it boots to windows without problem. but crash after few minutes of OCCT test. whats missing here? why cant i stable at 4.0ghz..

will post some screeny when i get back home.

spec:
Phenom II 555- now B55 3.8ghz
2 x 2gb team elite ram
MSI 990fxa-gd65
640gb hdd
gigabyte 6850 OC edition

how come 3 cpu-z showing same tab? sweat.gif

cpu-nb can just increase the multi, no need to touch HTT (FSB = intel term)

lower ram so that you it doesnt interfere in finding the limit

i suggest you put back your rams back at default first (i.e. 1333mhz 9-9-9-25)

put HTT @ 200, just adjust CPU Multiplier to OC and see how far it can go hmm.gif

u can check d review by our very own "dato" kuntawakaw's review here:

http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/1935647

personally i have better luck with 1090 or even 1055, but one can never tell coz when it comes to batch, it's by luck. ofkos what i mentioned is limited to air/water coolin, for extreme coolin it's all diff coz when a chip is doin great on air/water, it doesn't mean it's gonna do well on sub-zero. smile.gif

for thuban, gettin 3k on nb, 4~4.2GHz (cpu) & ram @ 2~2.1k (ram, if u dont have ram which capable of very tight timing ~1.9~2k) wud be my ultimate goal. with some luck, proper coolin & right combination on hw, it's doable. my humble 2 cents... wink.gif

so guys, 'ive managed to find my max FSB which is 260, and I hit blue screen. Then I overclocked my CPU, by increasing the FSB until 240 ( 240 x 15.00 = 3600 mhz) and hit blue screen when runnning prime95 for 2 minutes.

I've increased the voltage up to 1.36v but still system unstable when running prime95 and getting blue screen. should i keep it going? what is the max Vcore value can i go?

You should check the RAM clocks and CPU-NB clocks too, try to lower the RAM multi and CPU-NB multi to make them close to default settings,
cause if you increase the HTT clocks, both CPU-NB and RAM clocks will increase too.

easy leh, raise your HTT clocks to 300, or 250, then lower the RAM divider and timings, CPU-NB multi and HyperTransport multi asl well.
Do that only if you wan to oc cpu.
Ram part is the harder i think, forgot liao since i dont oc anymore lol.
May be depends on mobo, i could do that with my ex-mobo 890FXa UD7, but lower end mobo like 870a ud3 wont boot up with same settings sweat.gif

Hi Guys,

I'm planning to get another matching pair of 4GB Ram since its so cheap now.
But I remember reading somewhere that u won't be able to time ur Ram as tightly as 1 pair configuration.
I'm setting my Ram timing at 1432Mhz @ 8-8-8-21-25 now. Will I be able to keep the same timing with another pair of matching Ram's? Or I need to lower the timing a bit?

Thanks notworthy.gif
