By the way, while agreeing that IBM lappies are good, I've to say they are ugly too sleep.gif

Hehehehe laugh.gif , unfortunately that is so true... You'd think that for such a reliable and sturdy lappie, the guys at IBM/Lenovo should also design it better... Amongst all lappies, the ThinkPad is the one that most resembles a black box! tongue.gif

And not forgetting the two Windows buttons... The R50e does not have both, so it can get quite ma-fan to always click on the Start instead of being able to activate it with the push of a button... Furthermore, how come some IBM lappies have only got one speaker?

True true... Even the R50e has this problem... U have to deactivate the wireless via Windows instead of just switching it on and off...

Yup, ThinkPads included many of their own custom software and it takes quite sometimes to load into windows. My ThinkPad has around 57 apps running.

Hehehe, thats a problem many ThinkPad users face... Mine also takes a few minutes to boot-up and also another few minutes for shutdown... I think much of the resources is taken up by Access IBM in addition to the standard Windows applications...

Dachshund Integrator

this programme contains 4 parts:
anti crash - recover the error before it happens ( damn good)
battery doubler - extend battery life ( not tested yet )
other 2 i am not sure about the fuction

but this software really speed up when u hibernate or shutdown
if u want to speed up startup process, dont use norton anti virus...
that's all i know.. hope it helps

I am using T43 but it's my company laptop so those CDs are not with me.

I think most of the stuff are available in the website except your copy of OEM Windows Xp

Icic, any URL that can be provided, btw? Seems to be interesting, this nifty piece of application...

If it can at least reduce the waiting time during bootup and shutdown of IBM ThinkPads, then the app should be worth it...

If you use rescue & recovery to create backup disc, you are able to burn yourself back-up CDs at the point of factory default settings. I've made a backup of mine and it needed 7CDs rclxub.gif
