- install Samsung Kies
- reboot pc
- connect phone to pc and install the phone
- then follow the steps below

- Make sure your device is in USB debugging mode: Settings -> Applications -> Development -> USB debugging
- Reboot your device into download mode: Turn the device off, then power it on again by pressing and holding VolumeDown + Home + Power simultaneously. Select Volume Up to continue . You will see Downloading on screen
- Start ODIN
- Connect the device to your computer using USB
- Wait a few seconds, the ODIN screen should show you that a device is now connected
- Make sure that in ODIN NOTHING is checked, except the “Auto reboot” and “F. Reset Time” checkboxes. Press the “PDA” button, and select the “GT-I9100_Kernel_Gingerbread-supercurio-3.tar file.
- Press “Start”. ODIN you should now be flashing the kernel, and the device should reboot. This will take about 2-3 minutes
- Reboot the device
Your phone is now rooted.

hmm, i just back from senq too..i ask again the supervisor 2 yrs is senq warranty and 1 yr from samsung..but they still send to samsung for repairing within that 2 yrs.. according to her, as long as it is the handset defeat, they will repair except you drop, water get in or sweating or any human causes which make the screen not so sensitive..she said this happen before..customer's handset after checking by samsung, it is cause by the sweat.. so they charged him for the repair.. but i do heard my fren said before, senq's warranty is a bit strict and they always make sure its technical defeat before they repair for u..and the extended warranty for the extra 2 yrs is rm179 after she check on the computer system.. they increase the price already.... doh.gif

Please ensure that KIES is closed and not running in the system tray! Kies doesn't like Odin, it's like the big brother who's always jealous that his little brother is getting to flash all the phones so he starts to flash block. <-- from Odin ROM flash guide

Settings -> Voice input and output --> Text-to-speech settings -> Default engine

Samsung TTS only produce chimes whereas Pico TTS will have voice navigation. Kill Maps after the changes.

Just now go Digital Mall to look for SGS II..they all have stocks..but selling damn high price..lol..mostly selling RM2200..got 1 selling RM2299..WTF..tomorrow go Lowyat look again..

i killed KiesPDLR.exe and KiesTrayAgent.exe using task manager...
now my phone seems to look even worse, now got a phone icon(left side) orange exlamation(middle) pc icon on right side...

what does it mean?

can some kind soul teach me what to do in order to enable the data access? yesterday i subscribe to data plan and i can see 3G logo but i cant surf or browse and get error networks not available...try all the setting from 1st page to the celcom automatic setting still same

details of my phone is using villain rom 1.4 with KF2 kernal rooted with cf...also install 3g watchdog and apndroid....i have enable everything but still said no network..when i plug my sim to other phone (my old HTC Kaiser) i automatically set and can surf the internet ! so i think the setting must be not properly set...

even got logo 3G doesnt mean you can surf internet..maybe your place low signal..try other place got good signal or not..

That is Black screen of death. Need to get into download mode.

Before you start that, I need to know from where you download your stock ROM and how many tar files is inside the compress file.

i dl my stock ROM from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1075278 . I dl the XWKF1 bcoz my phone kernel ends with XWKF1.
there are 3 .tar files.
-CSC_I9100_XEUKD1.tar
-MODEM_I9100XXKE7.tar
-PDA_I9100XWKF1.tar

Check your APN settings ..... Which telco u r using ? U can find the setting on the 1st page ... After setting up , reboot your hp . It should work

Y dont u dl lite'ning 1.5 ? If u dont plan to use standard rom .... Only 1 file to flash so it makes thing easier 4 u ....

coz i was told to flash back to stock ROM 1st...

Ok that's good.

Make your phone into download mode first. Then plug into pc and fire up odin. You should see one COMXX on the Odin. If more than one, then there is other COM port interfering the ODIN. Put the three file to respective field. PDA=PDA, CSC=CSC, Modem=Phone. Leave other settings to default and never put any PIT file and do not tick repartition.

Press start and look at the progress...

i'm using celcom...already trid setting on 1st page and automatic setting but still same problem....reboot so many times....
