Can you enter Download Mode?

There might be an issue with your kernel. If you wanted to start fresh (may wipe your data), I suggest flashing back the stock ROM or you can try flashing stock kernel only first.

ROOTING :


Install an “insecure” modded kernel. This is a kernel that does NOT include the tools you need for Superuser, but it DOES give you root shell access, so you can install these manually.

- Download the attached ODIN file and extract the .zip file

- Download the Supercurio file , but do NOT extract the .tar file from

- Make sure your device is in USB debugging mode: Settings -> Applications -> Development -> USB debugging
- Reboot your device into download mode: Turn the device off, then power it on again by pressing and holding VolumeDown + Home + Power simultaneously. Select Volume Up to continue . You will see Downloading on screen
- Start ODIN
- Connect the device to your computer using USB
- Wait a few seconds, the ODIN screen should show you that a device is now connected
- Make sure that in ODIN NOTHING is checked, except the “Auto reboot” and “F. Reset Time” checkboxes. Press the “PDA” button, and select the “GT-I9100_Kernel_Gingerbread-supercurio-3.tar file.
- Press “Start”. ODIN you should now be flashing the kernel, and the device should reboot. This will take about 2-3 minutes
- Reboot the device
Your phone is now rooted.

Please ensure that KIES is closed and not running in the system tray! Kies doesn't like Odin, it's like the big brother who's always jealous that his little brother is getting to flash all the phones so he starts to flash block. <-- from Odin ROM flash guide

That is Black screen of death. Need to get into download mode.

Before you start that, I need to know from where you download your stock ROM and how many tar files is inside the compress file.

Y dont u dl lightning 1.5 ? If u dont plan to use standard rom .... Only 1 file to flash so it makes thing easier 4 u ....

Ok that's good.

Make your phone into download mode first. Then plug into pc and fire up odin. You should see one COMXX on the Odin. If more than one, then there is other COM port interfering the ODIN. Put the three file to respective field. PDA=PDA, CSC=CSC, Modem=Phone. Leave other settings to default and  never put any PIT file and do not tick repartition.

Press start and look at the progress...

Try download again the file. Might be corrupted. Yours is AP or SME set?

try simple one first eg litening

ryonangt your internal sd is corrupted. so flash a new rom n select repartition. you will lose all your 3rd party data

In xda , there's 2 thread if I'm not mistaken for standard rom . 1 is unpacked version where u put in manually all d files while in another , just 1 file in PDA n flash it . No .pit needed

Today went to Maxis @ The Garden, told me no stock, need to wait at least a week or more, but my friend working in the Garden, saw people successfully bought sgs2 over there this afternoon, what the hell.
