By the way if anyone asks for the student population ratio (Malaysian to non-Malaysian), it's approximately 60:40.

During last year's induction, the Provost mentioned about the actual SETARA scores (which wasn't made public) of each university, and UNMC was tops, winning Monash by a few points. He even said he phoned his Monash counterpart and congratulated them for being the "2nd best university in Malaysia". Also included in his slides was a PS-ed pic of the late (aww I miss him) Paul the Octopus predicting who'll win in a duel b/w UNMC and Monash, and expectedly Paul chose UNMC.

Of course without proper evidence from MQA and MOHE there's nothing much we can do to verify that.

LOL The UNMC population is about 10% of the parent campus. If the campus is to scale as well, then wouldn't the parent campus be humongous?

There are two methods to rent a room in TTS, first category being the ones managed by the Accommodation Office under the Pioneer Century company. You can obtain the form from Nottingham's website.

I think the houses in Edu Square are taken back from Pioneer Century right?

Anyway,

The second method would be private houses, this one are privately arranged between students and landlords, usually done verbally with some form of agreement or whatever.

For method one I suggest you take the form and fax to them, it's faster. And call them up from time to time just to check on the progress. It's early August already. smile.gif

I dont think anyone would actually want to eat in the campus if they have a choice. Campus food are just too [insert own word here]. There is even one stall which has windows resembling a dispensary LOL. tongue.gif

But the Arab Food corner is quite nice tho.

Pioneer charges extra also. Pioneer is the pioneer of blood sucking in Nottingham.

Hi guys,I'm quite interested in the area of accounting but UNMC seems to only be offering the BA (Hons) Finance, Accounting & Management. Is there anyone here who could provide more insight regarding the BA (Hons) Finance, Accounting & Management? It seems to me like a degree that is similar to a jack of all trades, master in none.I mean, for one the duration for the degree is only 3 years, and then the modules seem to be only scratching the surface of each field.

Any one taking the course knows what exactly "Accredited by ICAEW, ACCA, CIMA, and CPA Australia." means?(since they do not provide the specific number of exemptions of papers/areas for each of these professional exams/bodies)

And frankly, "Please note that the programme structure is subject to change, and the list of available modules may be modified from time to time." is a tad bit disturbing to me.If a degree is already established, shouldn't its roots and core modules be anchored firmly?(ie not that easily being subjected to changes) Would appreciate insight from anyone taking the course.Thanks.

Hi! I'm paying a visit to Nottingham Uni soon. I know that I can get a free shuttle bus at Kajang KTM. but is it limited only to the uni's stuff and students? If not, how do I know if that's the bus?

How much does it cost to take taxi from the KTM station to the uni? and where should I get the taxi?

Thank you!

You will see the "University of Nottingham" sticker on the side of the bus, it picks students up on the place which is exactly on the of opposite the stall that sells corn/jagung. It the typical Bas Sekolah, just with the Nottingham sticker on the sides. (Srsly I dunno why they dont paint the whole bus white with the logo on the side or whole bus blue with the logo as white. unsure.gif )

It's abit fugly, considering the fact that Nottingham should have the resource to use better buses.

Usually the driver wont check whether you are a student or not, I've been there four times without student ID biggrin.gif (I'm starting only on the coming September)

Taxi from Kajang KTM to Campus in taxi will cost RM35 (single journey) You will see lotsa uncles (Chinese, Malay and Indians all One Malaysia LOL) outside the KTM station.

Going for Open Day eyh?

If you are following the instructions emailed to you then you are pretty much safe, keep the email and the transaction record, safety purposes.

Try asking Cottoncandyclouds about this, she's in that course right now.

As for your "Accredited by ICAEW, ACCA, CIMA, and CPA Australia" I suppose it means the whole degree is accredited by them?

"Please note that the programme structure is subject to change, and the list of available modules may be modified from time to time" Why not calling up Nottingham/respective faculty and ask about it.

We are not officials from Nottingham anyway, if there's anything that relates with the structure and academic, it is still the best if you call up and ask (or even better, travel down and visit during open day) smile.gif

On campus food actually still ok la. You can survive off it if you're not a picky eater.

@jon6065168, you better make up your mind ASAP. August is considered late for accommodation application. You might have to settle for off-campus if you do not act quick. Rm600 can afford all the rooms except Single w/ Ensuite Bathroom + air con.

@manthew, actually Pangkor/Kapas not that far la. If walking at a leisurely pace, average 7 minutes to reach green building (yes I kept track of it). Run can reach within 2 minutes.

I'm applying for the Masters programme at Nottingham next week after my ex-lecturers give me my reference.

However, do I really need an IELTS or equivalent test result?
