If anyone's looking for house/rooms here, there's a few threads started in "Properties"

Just spreading around.

I am thinking to put all these housing information to our 2nd post, and maybe change the tagline to say "off-campus rental in 2nd post" in some ways to tell others there are rooms to rent.
What wait, where's my commission!!

Anymore off-campus rental to show up? I know there are some, lazy to dig back.

Just make phone calls to the relevant number - find it on our website. No need to treat the accommodation office too well because they were never good and efficient.
I have heard stories about they forgetting your application which end up you being put at the last queue instead of the front one (which you really deserve). A lot of unreasonable and nasty stuff for all those on-campus residents to find out!

Visited the accomodation at Nottingham on wednesday. Although , it is under renovation now , I was shocked when i saw the condition of the room. From the outside, the building looks nice but when i look at the room, it does not look that pleasant. Anyone here stayed at Kapas before, is the room's there newer and nicer?

Bear in mind that at the end of the day it's not a hotel.

Kapas and Pangkor are the 'newer' ones. Which one you visited?

This is what I'm afraid of. I emailed them on Monday and they haven't replied. My first choice is EduSquare.

Guys,

pick up the phone and call them up already.

Pick up the phone, punch the number, quote your application number, ask. In fact doing it twice a week won't be too much I think, it gives them pressure (if they can feel it) and speeds up application processing (hopefully) biggrin.gif

Don't resort to emailing, I tried a few times and the fastest time they give me a reply (which I still think is some customized generated respond coz it's awfully short) is 4 days.

Don't just sit there and wait, taking the initiative is part of being a Uni student. There will be a lot of applications since September is the main intake for all programmes. Surely you do not want to risk yours and get placed in some 4th or 5th choice right? smile.gif

And Sara, off campus accommodation is about 2-3km away from the campus.

Here's a detailed layout of the whole TTS area.

If proximity is your first choice, then you should look at TTS5.
If security is your top priority, then you should look at Edu Square.
If new-ness of the house is your preference, then you should look at TTS4.
If budget is your main concern (and you don't have a car), then you should look at TTS2/3/6.
If budget is your main concern (and you do have a car), then you should look at BSS, Pelangi and whatsoever.

EduSquare, for those who don't know, is in TTS5.

Hey tjj I suggest we pin the map (and your reply just now) in the accommodation post in first page.. If not it'll be hard (and lazy for us) referring back once the thread continue to expand.

Anyone lived in Edu Square before TTS5/2 the two main houses close to main road beside guard house? Anyone has the idea about safety and most important the environment...whether the place is very noisy as buses pass by frequently? Very appreciate for suggestions and opinions.Hopefully the environment will good enough for staying for 9 months.

This is a very good summary. Should add in the first two posts.

As for the good food, you need to add in Restoran 52, and the tomyam noodles in a small little house nearby it.

Probably google maps links would serve well too!

Hmmm some drawbacks...

Firstly you need a car as there's no shuttle bus, and it's further than staying at TTS.

Furthest place to stay will be BSS, which is probably cheaper,
and guarded, distance to uni is 7KM, only 1.6km more than coming from Broga (5.4km).
It's also more convenient to go to semenyih town, tesco, etc and kajang town.

Abit nearer than BSS would be Pelangi, very new houses (at Aman Villas) but more expensive.

But staying at Broga would be easy for quick and cheap meals, including breakfast (though no halal food is available).
