1800 makes it direct competition with samsung galaxy S2.. and also other model like HTC Sensation.. omg..
I am hesitate now because of Android phone price drop lately. I don't find using iOS and Android experience to be too positive so far..
It depends on whether you consider apps important or not. The N9 app store has to grow from zero. All existing Maemo and N900 apps will have to be ported by developers willing to do it against an uncertain platform future. If you can't live without your favourite ios or Android apps the N9 will be a tough choice.
Like the above forumer said meego is another OS u cant compare with android because for you to experience meego phone at the moment as consumer its only the upcoming Nokia N9. For you to experience android there are choice of samsung, HTC, motorola, SE and even china brand have.
Like iOS no matter how you compare you need to buy an apple device to experience it.
Like the Nokia representative said The Nokia N9 is not suitable for everyone but for people that know what they want.
Those that experience Nokia N900 before knows what the nokia N9 will be capable of

Well,I already have enough playing time with N9 & N950.Played with both phone for 20 minutes +.
I'm very very impressed with both of the devices.Especially N950. Extremely smooth OS with super simple UI & AMAZING multitasking.Throw whatever app you want at N9 & you'll hardly notice any lag.
Is it as smooth as iOS & Android? In one word : YES!
Developers come help N9!
I got the shock of lifetime when Eda (Nokia rep) smashed her N9 3 times on floor to demo N9's build quality. And bigger shock is there's no scratch on any part of the phone

N950~ Damn, mentioning it is just like rubbing salt onto an open wound. Its that painful.
Its really a missed opportunity for me not being able to attend the meeting (Too busy IRL), but still, the build quality you just mentioned makes me thinking back about getting a Mytouch 4g Slide. Its N9 or not, hmmmmmm.......
I just cant get back to wobbles or even plasticky build. Not after I enjoyed the awesomeness of my N8 and E6 build quality.

Decisions, decisions...
It was super fun with Nokia N950.It was pure joy talking with fellow nerds about linux & other stuff.
N9 is extremely solid. It's not hollow plastic. It's solid plastic with nice feeling to touch. Like I said I played with N9 & N950 for more than 20 minutes, even managed to finish NFS Shift 1 lap.And it felt good.No heat of weird feeling whatsoever.
This made me guilty of sneaking in evil Google product to this meeting
N900 was lacking on the application department but on N9, I tried NFS:Shift on it and the FPS was sooooooooooo good.
Those of you who played NFS:Shift on iOS and Android - I'm sure you know how laggy it was on Android (I tried on Honeycomb 3.2) compared to the one on iOS.
That aside, the N9 has no keyboard, not even a HOME button. It's entirely on swipe!

no la. they didn't start from zero.
the development platform they use, the application works for Symbian and Meego. so whatever was available on Symbian will likely be already available for the N9.

Nope. I went to MeeGo Malaysia Meeting today. I was given chance to test N9 & N950.So took time test things. Played NFS Shift & Galaxy on Fire 2.Both run great.
But the real scene stealer was N950. Even the Nokia rep asked why most of us more interested with N950 even though N9 is the end user product.

Even the developers who has N950 were very understanding. They just gave away their N950 for us to test.
I just took couple of pictures then started messing with the phones. While others mostly preferred to take pictures only... Come on guys, you had access to the most elusive phone on planet but instead of testing it to your heart content you just took pictures of it?
P/S: I accept any kind of donation for my fund to buy N9.I promise to help future N9 owners with any kind of problems

still not too late to resell the SGS II u getting for a Nokia N9 lol. A few people i talked to a few android users they keep focusing on the negative of a Nokia N9 keep saying dead OS but then conclusion is its not technology its what you do with it.
