I called this afternoon for the pin and they really asked me lots of verification question. Even after asking my name, phone, ic no etc they then even asked me my working place address, something I never even bothered to remember.

I did tell them the building name where my office is in and the CS didn't seem to accept it and asked me to request pin by sending the application by post to them. I am definitely not pleased and was like WTF. Why I need to go through so many steps just for a bloody internet pin?

Indeed! It is by far the most troublesome bank that I dealt with, just to register their online portal.

Here is another joke, I made a complaint on their CS and it took them 2 weeks to reply.

I am tempted to make complaint as well.

I just try to justify to myself that they are just being careful about the verification to protect user interest lol

EDIT

I called UOB again, this time with all the answers to the verification questions ready. After requesting for pin and answering all the questions, the CS actually told me that I need to write a letter and email to customer service to request the PIN. I was like WTF again? I thought the website said I can request by calling CS? And why can't the CS just told me earlier I need to do so and just save both of our time without going those BS verifications? What kind of policy is this?

This is just my 2nd credit card. My first, HSBC just mailed me the pin and I need to activate it by calling. Pretty hassle. Is every other banks like HSBC? Or UOB's the norm?

UOB is strict in that sense. You must request your online account pin via ATM or visit their branch/write in to obtain it. Normally the pin you receive via mail is for credit card ATM withdrawal or phone banking for other credit card. Not internet banking. So no need to get upset with UOB but I agree they are quite troublesome

The thing is, their CS is just incompetent. I faced the same situation as LightningZERO. The CS said that I need to write in to request for the temporary Pin. I insisted that it is not necessary and I should be able to request for it to be mailed by calling CS. Only then he said okay. From what I can conclude here, he is just plain lazy.

UOB is very troublesome in terms of some procedures, most of them cannot do online or on phone, you need to go to their branch or write in

Received my One card last week. Activated and using now. Today, I wanted to get a temp pin (to register online for statement purposes) via call before I go to the bank (I know I have to go to the bank but in the letter stated can request via call).

Funny when I called the given number and told my request, the guy asked me "Do you have any pin number given together with your card?", and obviously I answered "No. That's why I'm calling you, to get a temp pin number."

Then, he said there's no choice but to go to the bank and meet the bank officer who will assist me later on till I get the temp pin.

At least he's being direct and simple. Off to the bank, then. doh.gif

RM500 petrol rebate is very high as U need to pump RM10,000 petrol in a month to reach the RM500 rebate (5%).
