Swipe RM36k/year?  shocking.gif
How come the form they sent to me stated "Subsequent year fee waiver subject to RM3,000 p.a. + 1 transaction p.m. - Annual Fee: RM388 per card"?

Shit...nearly fall into the trap

Hi,

Just to check, UOB one card is the classic version? Reason is that, I applied for the One Classic card two weeks ago which I assume to be the UOB one card on the application form they faxed me then , because there is also the lady's card, one platinum and lady's platinum card options to tick.

I received the credit card in the mail but to my surprise, I got the lady's card instead and have no idea what is the real benefit for lady's card after looking at the UOB lady website. (SMART$ have more participating merchants in KL than my area, so also useless for me) What I was looking at more is at the cash back rebates for petrol and groceries for the UOB one card since this is one of the entry level card that I can apply for with my annual income requirement and to build up my credit history.  icon_question.gif

Call UOB Customer Service to complain about that, request them change correct card to you...
Maybe they unable to give u your preferred credit card type, the bank will offer u an alternative card,
based on their's approval & credit evaluation, like your situation now... blink.gif

Btw, this one is your 1st Credit Card ..??? hmm.gif

Yes it is, but both UOB one card and lady's card have same annual income requirement. So why would the bank offer me an alternative card with the same annual income requirement anyway?  unsure.gif
*
Are you sure was UOB One or One Platinum you had sign up...??? blink.gif
One Card was min. 24k per annual and for One Platinum was min.36k per annual (your Income)
In that case, you better call their CS to ask them Reason why they give u different card.. & request for Replacement
Their Call Center was 24/7 on call at 603-26128 121

Have called CS in KL because my online cc application went to UOB HQ in KL. So everything settled after making a few calls to the KL CS and the local CS. Will be going to change to the correct CC tomorrow at the local CS branch  rclxms.gif

I'm curious about one thing, the Uob lady's classic card would benefit the ladies living in KL primarily because there are more participating merchants in KL under the SMART$ cash rebates program and only few participating merchants from other states in malaysia are under this program, right? This is what i discovered after reading through the benefits. This card does not benefit me despite the KL CS saying that this card has alot of benefits to offer me but only if I am living in KL. Please correct me if i am mistaken ya.

Only good part, is that the lady's classic card is a MC which means MC charges are lesser than VC from what I heard though - I can't verify this so please confirm?

Good to hear your problem had been solved... High Credit Limit they give U ??? brows.gif
I prefer Pure Cash Back Card (ONE Card) better than Ladies Card unless you are Big spender on Ladies's Stuff like shoes, designer bag, clothes..
Nothing better than instant Rebate- cash back in petrol & others utilities than Reward Point... call me Money Face brows.gif
For me No difference between visa & mastercard.. all samelah just different with their own card's privileges only cool2.gif

I think they gave me the starting min credit limit for the lady's card. Think should be the same for the UOB one card.

Can understand your point on cash rebates. For me, cash rebates are better because i dont spend on designer stuff like how other ladies die die must have designer bags and shoes!  I could wear a ripped and rugged unbranded jeans around in malaysia with the bo chap attitude. Its safer than being targetted by the robbers  rolleyes.gif

Oh sh*t.. I didn't know that this also will be charged? Looks like need to call the JB branch on saturday if they are open because I didnt manage to get the card changed on the spot because... even though the KL CS informed me on the phone that I could change the card at the JB branch and I just needed to bring a letter to state that I want to change the cc. But really screwed up cos firstly, the JB CS didn't want to change it on the spot for some reason, so she type a letter for me to sign which request that the KL CS reinvestigate my cc application issue and reissue me the correct card as my cc appliction clearly shows I had ticked the One Classic card option. Need to wait 1-2weeks for their action.

Worse to worse, I will make a complain if they dare to charge the RM50 when the card is not activated and never swiped. I still have the original application form because I had to fax it to the UOB KL at that time, to prove they made the mistake on their side. This is due to the fact they NEVER receive my online application form which I had printed and sent the application with the docs to the UOB KL.

But thanks for the tipoff. I will do that on saturday!
*
Luckly, U Keep all the documents without throwing away... now very risky to apply Credit Card Online...
I never trust online service & I prefer walk-in to bank pass the thing to the bank....a bit kiasu

Yes, agreed. I was concerned that the UOB KL didnt receive my printed online application form & supporting docs in the mail because of the high probability of identity theft to apply for things I would never apply unknowingly.  I got to admit though , the KL CS surprised me further by calling me to follow up on my cc application, that's how i knew they never receive my mail. I got the new application forms from them through fax to fill in again and fax them back - this came in handy since i get to keep the original form.

That's a first i suppose for a first time customer who can only meet the min annual income requirement - usually banks go for the customers with high annual income requirement, to gain the most profitable business.  hmm.gif This is from personal experience but i could be wrong also.

My Own Experince with UOB:
Early this year, I tried to apply UOB Credit Card(walk-in), I submit all my Income Document to the bank officer... and wait for verification (call)
from them. After a month later, I call their Customer Sevices to check on Application's Status, after not received a call/ letter from them.
The CS told me that somehow their have lost my income document & due to insufficient Document the can not process my application...
can you believe it or not shocking.gif until now still waiting their acknowledgement letter (credit card application) mad.gif
Such of a Good Services from UOB... shakehead.gif doh.gif
(myself now own 6 credit cards from different bank none of them got this Lousy Experince like UOB)

Omg! Banks have protocols and procedures on handling sensitive, classified or confidential information. How can they lose your documents? You should have made a formal complaint on their poor handling of such sensitive customer information? Who will be held accountable for such loss if this happens again?  blink.gif

Similar Situation(Same) like You.. blink.gif .
So be careful when you apply Loan/Credit Card facilities with any bank next time... just sharing my own Experience...

As per dojob's post on the RM50 charge for the wrong card, I went to check my CCRIS on the card status - there was indeed a RM50 charge slapped on the wrong card which I have not even activated or used either. I then asked the CS in person why they put a RM50 charge for the wrong card since the bank is the one who issue me the wrong card and the CS reply is: The UOB KL is investigating my cc application issue and said to wait 1 month then waive the charge... so I am like okay..

Today I received the bank statement for the card in question and there is a RM50 charge reflected, FOLLOWED by a phone call from the CS there to say that the RM50 charge cannot be waived because it is the government svc tax imposed and I need to pay this first before they can send me the correct card. ohmy.gif

IF You No need these Card, so why Apply ...??? sweat.gif
Although You have Not Activated the Cards, You may have to pay GST ($50 x 2 cards= $100) because its been Approved & already sent its out to You
Cut the Card in to Half before you sent its back to Bank or Surrender the card to the Nearest Branch , whether or not they Charge You the GST up to Bank's Decision ... blink.gif
