No point raise the issue to Mediacorp. We can receive Singapore channels are due to overspill signals from Singapore.
So if by any means, Malaysia interrupt Singapore TV or radio channels, they (Singapore) cannot do anything because it is outside Singapore's land.
If the interference affects Singapore, then only they will interfere.

But, overspilling their signals to Malaysia could actually benefit Singapore's Mediacorp, because that could mean that Malaysian can contribute to increase their channel's viewership rating on certain programmes as well.

Due to such reason, Mediacorp do sometimes air ads (Especially Channel 8) that only sell products on Johor Bahru that can target both Malaysians and Singaporeans.

Question: "Want to ask, can (MYTV) digital TV channels be received in Singapore? That will be great if possible."
Answer: "Only in Malaysia, sir."

Even if they know, they have to pretend don't know.

Another example is, FM radio, JB area can receive Singapore FM stations without issues. But then, once you enter Singapore, you will find it difficult to receive all Malaysian FM stations.
I don't believe if you tell me "because the tower is too far away" because what I observe/notice that, when you're in Singapore CIQ (either in Woodlands or Tuas), you can still receive Malaysian radio stations.
But after customs clearance and just 1 junction away to Singapore's main highway road, the signal reception degrades almost immediately. So once you're on Singapore's highway after immigration, Malaysian radio stations will be full of static already, although barely you can still listen it but very difficult to listen clearly.

And the amount/level static noise is totally equal to Singapore islandwide. Means, the static noise you hear, is equally the same compared if you're in Woodlands (northern Singapore) or Marina Bay (southern Singapore). It's not like, you hear less static in Woodlands but more static in Marina Bay because Marina Bay is southern Singapore which is much further away from Malaysia.

I suspect Singapore installs FM radio jammers at ground level so that Singaporeans will (forced to) tune to their local stations instead of Malaysian radio stations. What I meant ground level, is because you barely can listen to Malaysian stations when you're on the road (driving, or in bus). And if you're in the road tunnel, you can hear nothing, full static on Malaysian radio stations, and you can only listen Singapore radio stations clearly. You can listen to Malaysian radio station after road tunnel ends, but still with static. However if you're at high rise buildings such as HDB, condos, you can get crystal clear reception on all Malaysian radio stations (except for some stations due to the location/power of the transmitter in JB, so far I only aware of is One FM).

So for that, Malaysia cannot interfere lah, because it is outside Malaysia's land. smile.gif

When I was in Singapore few weeks ago, my car radio can receive all Msia's Malay FM radio flawlessly. And my relative's HDB house (in Bedok and Tampines) can receive Mytv signal without problem.

Hmm? Tell me more.
Which Malaysian radio station you try to receive in Singapore? And if you remember, could share us which highway or towards what place you're driving in Singapore that you can still listen to Malaysian radio stations without static, at all?

As for Malaysian digital TV channels, what antenna type your relative use in his or her HDB hse? And, around what floor? Antenna got face window? And what's the signal reading?

Its quite obvious that this person deliberately ask MYTV that question, don't you think? Just want to see what would the official MYTV reply on that question.

Hot FM and Era FM.

From Woodlands, BKE -> SLE -> TPE.

Arrived at Tampines,

then went to Bedok through PIE.

After that going back to Malaysia via Second Link.

From Bedok, use ECP -> MCE -> AYE straight to Tuas.

The only place I cant receive Msia Radio station when in MCE.

For Msia DTV, I didnt know their equipment and signal reading. But I can see the Siaran Digital Mytv watermark.

It seems that it can be received clearly islandwide hmm.gif
Besides Hot FM and Era FM, did you try tuning to other Malaysian radio stations?

Btw like I said earlier, you won't be able to receive any Malaysian radio channels if you enter any Singapore tunnels, and that includes MCE as well.

And, thanks for sharing the info. Really appreciate it.

97.6 hitzfm received crystal clear throughout sg (except changi airport to changi village area)

In addition, on scv catv lines which also broadcast fm, they deliberately block msia fm channels by broadcasting fake static noise (my radio can get signal lock but all static).

If dtt malaysia legit can receive in sg then i get tuner alr lol... now in marine parade area even indonesia signal stronger than msia uhf

edit: mce fm reception is a joke. even singapore station in mce cannot receive properly (bottom of tunnel and near ecp exit b4 kpe (towards changi))

What is that "scv catv lines"?

You mean Malaysia digital TV's UHF or analogue TV signal?

Some wireless microphones does operate at that frequencies, so it is better if you re-tune to other frequencies to prevent interference.

Just a little trivia.
Many months back, MYTV Broadcasting did transmits its digital TV channels within LTE 700MHz range (703-803MHz) but it is only some transmitters in some states, such as 714MHz, 722MHz and 738MHz.
I'm not sure why, maybe they just want to testing transmit digital TV service using LTE 700MHz frequencies? Since LTE 700MHz not yet deploy by any telcos, so it shouldn't be a problem. But still, it was a test transmission, so it's temporary and eventually now as far as I know, MYTV don't transmit their digital TV channels on 703-803MHz frequency anymore.

Wonder which service will occupy most of the frequency: additional digital TV service or LTE services... hmm.gif

That frequency range will be used for mobile broadband like 4G LTE only.

last time in sg the analogue signal all come from the master aerial on the rooftop shared by the whole block (matv)
when starhub tv was introduced, they reused he existing coax lines for pay tv use where u need special decoder (similar to astro). Local singapore tv channels + tv1 + local fm radio continued to be broadcast by local uhf and fm relay/booster through the same lines, while the rooftop aerial was disconnected.

thats why no msia channels other than tv1 if u plug into the wall.(unless u landed or really high rise flat might have chance)
