Bro which area are u at in Kulai and what kind of antenna are u using? Is it those normal indoor antenna with booster? I'm using Sony Bravia with built in tuner too but no luck getting anything.

My TV is sony bravia kdl-50w704a. So should have dvbt2. I'm using external antenna from a long time ago couldn't get any digital channels but can get some analog channels. Do I need to just readjust the antenna or I need a new one for digital altogether?

Signal on and off mosaic, seems like weak signal performance. Do you think that Tx power will be increased after official launch ?

I will get another set of Yagi antenna for our local Mytv since concurrent one on roof top is doing well for Thailand DVB-T2.

I just bought Greentek brand antenna on offer for 46.50 at Aeon Big, they go for 50++ at Aeon Jusco. Put near my window can receive SG channels. Can't try on MYTV coz they're MIA since last week near my place (Kulai).

No. You can use your existing antenna to receive digital TV signals. Do note that Malaysia will be using only UHF band for digital TV. VHF band won't be used for TV broadcast anymore once analogue TV switch-off on June 2018 (our gov plans to make it happen on that date).

So, to get the best signal reception, make sure you are using a UHF antenna. VHF antenna also can, but signal reception won't be as good as UHF ones.

In general, remember that the job for TV antenna is just to receive signals only. It doesn't matter if you are receiving analogue or digital TV, SD channel or HD channel. There are no such thing; don't get fooled by those antennas that stated "DVB-T2 ready" or "Full HD ready" antennas. The only such thing is UHF antenna or VHF antenna.

But of course, make sure your digital TV receiver or TV's built-in digital TV tuner supports DVB-T2. If it is only DVB-T, then unfortunately you will have to buy a digital TV receiver set-top-box.

Unlike analogue TV, signal boosters are not necessary for digital TV. So, don't use any signal boosters to receive digital TV channels, as "overload signal" (receive too much signal) may occur, resulting you not able to watch the channels at all (it will appear as No Signal).

Use signal booster for digital TV ONLY if you are desperate and unable to receive digital TV signals at all, even that you've tried to replaced new indoor or outdoor antennas with new cabling, or perhaps there's a hill or mountain or harsh terrains that makes TV reception difficult to receive. Otherwise, don't use booster.

If you have booster installed at your antenna, power it off. If still doesn't work, then it is better for you to completely remove the box-like booster from ur outdoor antenna. Meaning, connect the cable directly to antenna, not IN to booster, OUT to antenna, and also same goes to indoor booster. If still doesn't work even after all this, and even tried to align your antenna,  then it is probably due to the cable. If the cable is too old, like 10 over years already, then it's time to replace a new one.

Receiving digital TV signals should be way easier to receive compared to analogue TV. To make things simple, try using indoor antenna first, even though you tried before that receiving analogue TV channels is not possible or poor signal if you use indoor antenna at your location. If can't receive using indoor antenna, then only go ahead for outdoor antenna. Make sure you are using UHF antenna.

Obviously it is antenna problem. I think you still need an outdoor antenna in order to receive Singaporen digital channels. You may try buying a cheap indoor antenna to test first. If an indoor antenna does not work, only then you may consider replacing your old outdoor antenna.
