A naughty bird just flew in and told me this...

We need to pay...

1st month : RM2,099 + [Value plan] + [3GB data] - [rebate RM58]
2nd month onwards :  [Value plan] + [3GB data] - [rebate RM54]

So total rebate is RM58 + [RM54*23] = RM1300, hence making the phone : RM2,099-RM1,300 = RM799

Now, if your Value plan is RM30, 3GB data is  RM88 (-RM10), then...

1st month, you pay RM2,099 + RM30 + RM78 - RM58 = RM2,149
Subsequently, you pay RM 30 + RM78 - RM54 = RM54

So, Maxis collects your money upfront and earn interest...hehehe!!!  brows.gif

Just like what they did to HTC Flyer.. took money up front and discount in the monthly bill..

no as your calculation is only based on the 300 customers smile.gif
and the 301st customer can only buy the phone @ RM 1199-RM200 = RM 999 (the highest subsidised plan)
and for the 300 persons, they will know what plan suit them the most
we dont sign up for a expensive plan just to get a cheaper phone, dont ya ?

and most important things is, Maxis got nothing to lose

This is make sense, to avoid ppl just signup the RM799 package subsequently cancelled the contract by paying RM500 penalty making the phone only RM1,299 to pay.

Yes . I agree this buy plan sounds more realistic knowing Maxis . In principle similar to HTC flyer. You pay full first and over 2 years slowly rebate back to you. Anyway if you consume that lot of data is still worth it. Paying outright rm799 for phone is incredibly unbelievable from Maxis

I guess that makes sense too.. if it's really like that, I can't get it at launch then. Don't have the cash yet. sad.gif

http://www.maxis.com.my/personal/android/A...id_Packages.asp

It stated pretty clearly that the minimum voice call plan eligible for Android phones plan is VP50.

Phone @ 799 + 24months VP50 @ RM1200 + 24months 3GB RM88 @ RM 2112 = Total RM4111

I wonder if Maxis will say those signing up for promotional price will get RM10/month rebate on data plan or not nia. If you deduct the RM10/month rebate, then it's really quite attractive. If you pay RM2k or so upfront, over the next 24months, just need to pay <RM100 per month for call plan + 3GB internet.

This plan is not attractive at all for low call users.
better wait for Digi package: discounted phone price + unlimited data
