the latest angelo rom v1.2 is really fast. still have to test its stability over the next few days. anyone have any thoughts on this rom?
*
I like his cute splash screen animations
I like his taskbar icons
I find battery life has improved by at least 5 % ( that is in standby mode , actively refreshing my email, RSS, tweeter, newsfeed ) from midnight to 7 am
I cannot really assess the battery usage while in use as my phone is always being charged while in car and at desk
It is indeed more responsive

Today GSM Arena latest review comparison using HTC Sensation as the base against the 2 dual cores SGS II and OPtimus 2X
Read the " hidden lines" behind the reviewer final comments and you will know which is a better choice. Those on the fence between HTC Sensation and SGS II should read

http://www.gsmarena.com/htc_sensation_vs_g...-review-608.php

For those who has yet to ever read the page 1 ; I repost here again other web comparisons between the HTC Sensation and SGS II

http://androidcommunity.com/samsung-galaxy...video-20110520/

http://www.techradar.com/news/phone-and-co...alaxy-s2-961874

After reading these 3 reviews , I am sure you can make a better decision. Don't ask users here which is better - 9.9/10 will tell you SGS II is better

but sgs 2 users have no sense.  doh.gif

choose sensation as the best android challenger to iphone4's dominance.
its got the balance btwn hardware and software.

for pure geek ecstasy, sgs2 is better i suppose.
*
Not everyone like htc Sense. I for one do not like it - it just takes up too much screen estate with its widgets and use up too much memory. Never like it since the days of Windows Mobile. I still prefer plain vanilla UI where I can customize my own homescreens. I'd say HTC Sense is good for new users who wishes a friendly UI with nice graphics. Even on my Flyer I replace it - nice to look at but as sounded not practical. I also never like Samsung Touch Wiz UI or Motorola Blur UI, Dell Stage UI etc - it is always being replaced with other 3rd party launchers where I can customize it better

how much bro? the higher d Class is, the better speed it offer?
*
The battery pack has a full USB port. So you just plug in your phone USB cable to it and it can charge the phone. Anyway this item they do not deliver to Msia ; I just tested the checkout using my account. If they do, be prepare to add in another at least US$30 for delivery charges. I buy many stuffs from Amazon and only as a last resort ( if I cannot get on ebay ) as their delivery charges is very high

QUOTE(pcboy @ Jun 16 2011, 10:44 PM)
Hi guyz, can anyone please advise me..

These are what i've done:
- installed kies
- installed driver from kies
- factory reset sgs2

Info:
* i even reformat my Windows 7 (i thought it gets conflict with my previous SGS driver) and started everything from fresh but still fail
* Kies detects my phone, i can browse contacts etc. but Odin still fail to detect in download mode
* my phone is a branded O2 Ireland. Sim free
* i've tried on other PC but still fail

Please help me, i lost hope.. i just want to Root my phone
*
First check : Miccrosoft.Net Framework 4 must be installed , download at :
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/deta...&displaylang=en

If you have this already install : NEXT
KIES is still a funny piece of software ; it is unreliable and cases of PC failing to detect phone is common. Just google this issue and you will see many of such cases. You can try this :

Install the proprietary Samsung USB phone drivers : Google for this exe file : SAMSUNG_USB_Driver_for_Mobile_Phones_v1.3.350.0.exe

If still cannnot detect, than need a longer way : install Google default USB phone drivers
Download android sdk at : http://developer.android.com/sdk/
Run the exe file. Remember where you extract the files. Locate SDK manager - run it. You will have few dialog box instruction , follow it till you are a prompted to install the packages. Minimum select Android 2.0 and above all files - the download of these could take up to half hour or more
Restart computer

Try using a Windows XP PC, seems there is an issue with ODIN and Windows 7 64Bit. Other users have complained as well.
*
True and untrue on Win7. Reports of incompatibility with Windows 7 is mixed. I could have it detected on Win7 running on my iMac but unable to have it detected on my MacBook Air. ( both are on same MacOSX 10.6.7) Yes it will definitely work without issues on WinXP

*
YES the garage sales guys are SHARKS. I bought my YB602 from this seller at lelong ; got it within 7 days . I paid RM 109 for it - garage sales 2 chaps were selling for RM 250 and RM 299 at that time

THere are more issues with KIES with Win 7. WinXP I can say is perfect
You need not install KIES to have PC detect your phone. You can install the Samsung drivers separately as I have shown
You need KIES only if you wish to sync your phone with your contacts, calendars, music etc. However I always recommend to dump KIES. Put your PIM data onto your GMail account - it is so convenient and fast to sync. You can set auto sync or manual sync. If you change your Android phone, access thro Gmail and your PIM data is sync down to your new phone

Do a search in SEARCH TOPIC in thread ver4 and you can see the discussion and seller links on sgp sp and other cases

Added on June 17, 2011, 7:29 amMaxis offer probably similar to HTC flyer . Could be along these lines
Pay full price phone upfront
Sign a 2 year data contract
Everymonth you have a rebate of rm70
Over 2 years nett phone cost rm799
Those mathematically inclined guess the selling price n monthly data you Need to pay
Example HTC flyer pay rm2499.sign 2 year at rm250 data monthly. Each month maxis rebate about rm90 and after 2 years just cost of HTC flyer only about rm200
Anyway just guessing

One can just mati off waiting for kies to sync. Or use win xp os which offers faster and better sync with kies

RM799 with RM250 per month maybe..
*
But there is this rm70 monthly which probably a rebate from rm250. Just as an academic exercise, over 2 years total rebate rm1680 . Plus rm799 mean pay upfront about rm2479
Interesting way to sell just like flyer
Anyway as said just speculating

If you are high data user after 2 years phone cost u rm799 than is worth. If you are low data user it is out of consideration

I see, still need to pay full amount of 2099 even if we're first 300.
Just that Maxis will give monthly rebate of RM54?

2099 - 799 then /24 = 54 per month.

Correct me if i'm wrong.  rclxub.gif

As said just an academic exercise in speculation
Maxis might turn out generous and give u a irresistible offer
