Chill la bro, our friend here is just giving his opinion. I don't know what are you trying to prove here but I see no difference in the videos as the video for the OHC starts when the rpm is already at 3k and both of the car reaches 100km/h in 11+ sec when i pause the videos when de speedo showing 100km/h. Anyway, it's just a slight difference and that don't make the OHC much superior than the new one.

Personally I've driven both and I think the OHC definitely has better stand off pick-up but when it comes to higher speed both are more or less the same as the NHC definitely feels more powerful when speed catches-up. Oh btw, I'm also a member of the HCC and HC3, mind giving me the link of any test that has been done before perhaps I've missed the topic?? *asking in a nice way*  smile.gif
*
If there's "LIKE" button I would give it to you tongue.gif
Yeah, a car is not just about speed.. it's about overall driving experience
NHC is more responsive and giving more feedback to the drivers
Not just in engine power alone, but has good handling as well

Here's a good read for all about the NHC engine L15A7 smile.gif
http://asia.vtec.net/Engines/LSERIESG2/index.html
Here's driving impression on NHC, comparing to OHC as well
http://asia.vtec.net/Reviews/3GCity1Drive/index.html

If OHC is really that great, why would Honda bother improving it?
or are you -PuPu^ZaPruD3r-, is saying that you are better than honda engineers? unsure.gif

My FC is 14~15km/l on highway drive, and 9~11km/l on city drive (very short distance)
And of course driving style affect a lot on fuel consumption
For your information, I'm a heavy foot driver and yet i got those figures  smile.gif

Vios has roughly the same fuel consumption, it's slightly faster on pickup is due to lesser weight but not because of its DOHC engine... City engine is SOHC but makes more power with its i-vtec technology

But as you know, from so many fatal accident news which involves Vios, a lighter body would cause you the lives of your love ones and even yourself..  shakehead.gif
*
Well about de SOHC vs DOHC, it's actually from my experience of driving my dad's old Accord, new Accord, OHC and NHC which are all using SOHC I notice there's this slight sluggishness during the initial stand off pick-up compare to Myvi, Vios and Altis which are using DOHC where it feels more responsive the moment I put my foot on the pedal. However, I'm just speculating on this one as I'm not too sure also but it could be due to factors such as the engine tuning or the power-to-weight ratio. Just my 2cent tongue.gif

As for safety, I think the most important thing is to drive safely as any car also could be fatal even if it's a Ferrari or Rolls-Royce wink.gif

It's all down to power-to-weight ratio man
Weight is one of the top deciding factor in car performance and handling.. Which is why track racing involves a lot of weight reduction

Myvi has only about 900+kg which is really light, their 1.3 engine feels like 1.5 for comparison
So theoreotically it's faster in acceleration, but top end would lose to higher displacement engines

Vios is 1090kg compared to NHC 1160kg (This can be offset with NHC more powerful engine)

Altis (This have to compare with Forte, Civic is DOHC, New accord 2.0 is SOHC but weight 1480kg shakehead.gif , but 2.4 is DOHC which is the most powerful among its class compared to Camry and Nissan Teana icon_rolleyes.gif )

Engine tuning wise, Toyota is more to fuel efficiency while Honda is all-the-way power AND being fuel efficient laugh.gif

I agree with driving safely, but smartly as well
Be alert of others and not just yourself
Don't drive too slow and hog other people's road smile.gif

So what? Nobody gives a damn
I don't buy h.city to race man

7 speed mode is only virtual gears simulated by the ecu in the CVT tranmission
Unlike the actual gears in NHC with fixed ratio... wake up from your dream ok?

Joining car clubs can make you super fast world champion racer? Just how old are you, boy?

You think 9.5 sec very fast? I did 5.9 sec sprint with my weekend car i also keep quiet only  cool.gif

No point arguing. Just enjoy the ride. if not happy with current ride, go change to a better ride if got $$.

Arguments are arguments, if one is not satisfied that he's "won" the debate, he will go on and on, rounds and rounds.... to prove the slightest insignificant point.

Sometimes it's clear who's the fanboy. The one who uses the word more or the one who's just not bothered about it.

bro calvin, I wasn't arguing about anything...
I join the forum to share opinions just like everybody else
I also expect to learn more about my ride and get more information from different people too
One similiar car but there can be so many different drivers
Sharing modification infos and driving experience would be a good practise, isn't this what a forum is all about? smile.gif

Hello city-ians, I just installed modulo spoiler but the spoiler's paint color is deeper than my city's paint color. is that normal?
I had asked the worker and he said because of the sun's heat will cause the paint stripped so they will paint it to deeper color. But i'm now doubting that -.-'
My city is metallic grey color, already 1 years old. smile.gif anyone facing this problem? or it's normal?
*
I'm sorry but you got cheated. If you're seeing a deeper colour on your spoiler, then the colour code is different. If your car is metallic grey, you should be getting back the exact same colour as long as your paint has not been carbonised yet...

No you're not cheapskate, I believe we all get pretty well equipped japanese import at this price. (I mean within japanese makes competitors only)

The only obvious problem is the taxation...
NHC is priced at merely 60k in countries like India, Thailand after conversion shakehead.gif

And if you ever wonder how much the actual price of Proton is, they export Persona (for example) to Saudi Arabia for just 35k ringgit... sad.gif

Evem then you don't see much persona in the streets of riyadh.
1 ringgit = approximate 1 saudi riyals.

Mazda 6 is about 65k riyals to 75k riyals.
VW passat is about 85kr riyals
Audi A4 2.4 is about 125k riyals
Jaguar X-type is about 140k riyals
Cheapest Porsche Cayenne is about 200k riyals..

That's why you get so many people migrating to Saudi to work.

Back to NHC, my 6th service is creeping up!

the coolant for radiator actually is right in front of the fans.. the one we get on the left hand side is the water for wiper.
anyway, i have been adding water into the coolant since day-1 and it has not caused me any problem so far.

By right we shouldn't add water into the coolant reservoir. The proper way to add coolant is to use distilled water (50%) + coolant (50%). It's best to as the SC to top it up for us since they should have the coolant mixture ready at all times.

The reason why we should not top it off with tap water is because the boiling point for water is at 100 degree Celcius. The distilled water & coolant mixture has a boiling point at 106 degree Celcius. Furthermore, the mixture will prevent your radiator from getting rusty in the long run. That is why, try not to top up your radiator with tap water wink.gif

Note: Believe me, the radiator temperature can easily reach 90 degree Celcius & could achieve 98C when the aircond is turned off.
