QUOTE(Point Ex @ Jul 15 2011, 01:51 AM) I'm having problem with WLAN. My netbook and PC with dongle (both are 802.11g) could not connect to the router. Only my other laptop with wireless-N can connect. Any ideas? Is my router faulty?I think the problem is this: the router is using WPA2-PSK with AES. My computers "think" it's using WEP. See screenshot for details. ![]() Any ideas? [Edit1: I have tried downstepping from wireless b/g/n to b/g, set bandwidth to 20MHz, and set channel to 10. None of them work.] |

QUOTE(Point Ex @ Jul 15 2011, 02:55 PM) I face this situation before. It could be the WiFi driver of your computer (Try to find the latest one)Or you could try to get router information to your PC by pressing the button on the right side of your router (after you press you can see blue light) This post has been edited by Nels: Jul 15 2011, 05:33 PM |

I think its related to the hardware itself. |

@Point Ex
WEP configuration and WPA are total 2 different animals. You can't use the configuration interchangeably. Both uses different encryption methods. It is akin to asking your notebook to talk in Chinese whereas your Router is speaking Japanese. I suggest you to look for updated drivers on your notebook which support WPA / WPA2. |

Dear all. I am getting my unifi installed next week and I have a few questions I need to ask all sifus.
1. I would like go install the unifi fiber home unit in my study room. I believe the fiber home unit has 4 ports? I will connect one port to my pc and another port to an Ethernet powerline adaptor. 2. Another powerline adaptor in the living room connects to the wifi router in the living room. 3. IPTV device connects to the wifi routerk and tv in the living room. Will this setup work? If I have another powerline adaptor on the 2nd floor bedroom, can I use the iptv device there? Thanks in advance. This post has been edited by toytoy: Jul 16 2011, 12:21 AM |

Dialer is in the router. You can't connect straight to the BTU or what you said Fibre Home Unit. That 4 ports for deco only xD1. I would like go install the unifi fiber home unit in my study room. Using homeplug, you need to confirm the wall socket you're connecting to are on same phase. Why don't you just install everything in the living room and use homeplug to ur room. Thanks for the reply. So that means the BTU and router needs to be at the same place? But IPTV unit only needs to be connected to the the router?
So I can use iptv device on 2nd floor with a homeplug? |

Hehe thanks for the reply bro. This is good as I can watch tv anywhere in the house.
Bro rattan, is it true that unifi package must apply for new phone line and we have to terminate existing streamyx phone line? Otherwise have to pay monthly access fee for the old phone line if we decided to keep it while terminating streamyx only? |

QUOTE(toytoy @ Jul 16 2011, 08:39 AM) Hehe thanks for the reply bro. This is good as I can watch tv anywhere in the house. Unifi comes with a total new phone line. You cannot migrate your existing number to Unifi. A new number will be assigned. You can keep your old phone line if you want to or you can terminate. If you keep you have to still pay the access fee, where by phone line comes with unifi is free. Do monthly access fee.Bro rattan, is it true that unifi package must apply for new phone line and we have to terminate existing streamyx phone line?
