Im using unifi with ps3 now. With the current crappy/unstable speed and lousy customer service from unifi now, Id wish I was on streamyx.

believe me, streamyx is better now. Hopefully end of the year they sort everything out. Better you hold on to streamyx for now.  biggrin.gif

Was on Streamyx (4MB) package for a long time and Unifi is way better when it comes to online gaming. One of the more "recent" common problem is 802.1b/g/n 2.4ghz network congestions and the wide-channel option set at DIR-615 by default makes it even worse. Switch to 5ghz or interference suppression option if your router supports it seems to help. I know it does as there are like a dozen wifi networks where I am located and you see like so many networks sharing the same frequency spectrum biggrin.gif

Although changing DNS allows blocked sites to be accessed again, the download speed from those sites are terrible. sad.gif

I'm having problem with WLAN. My netbook and PC with dongle (both are 802.11g) could not connect to the router. Only my other laptop with wireless-N can connect.

I think the problem is this: the router is using WPA2-PSK with AES. My computers "think" it's using WEP. See screenshot for details.

Any ideas?

[Edit1: I have tried downstepping from wireless b/g/n to b/g, set bandwidth to 20MHz, and set channel to 10. None of them work.]

does anybody else hv problem with TMRND stupidly shitty unifi router connection with their smartphone (android) / iphone / ipad / PS3 / X360???

played with all types of security, channels, b/g/n types.. all to no avail..

if i plan to change to this router ASUS-RT-N56U (as shown in klseet.com). Will this be a true plug n play router? will there be any other 'specific' or 'special' settings? klseet.com description wasnt helpful. will this be a total REPLACEMENT for the stupid stock TM router?? or i hv to do a VLAN bridge?

thnks in advance! smile.gif

For me i just connect both router using cable, set the streamyx modem to use same segment IP n disable the DHCP function in the streamyx modem. Thats all.

Can the usb port on the stock DR615 router be used for shared printer as depicted on the box?
If yes how to install it?

Allritey, will try this out. Just chkd, im using the Riger TM brand adsl modem. Will this support ur kind of setup? In the modem mgmnt page where can i set the segment ip add? Does same segment means i hv to set the a static IP for the strymx modem? ex: my Unifi Router IP is 192.168.0.1, and therefore, i must set my Strymx Modem IP to 192.168.0.2 ~ 99 ? is this correct?

sorry for the stupid questions, im a total dumbass when it comes to networks sweat.gif

Oh ya bro, i missed the links for the beta firmware at the bottom of the page. Didnt clicked ur link earlier coz i was alrdy opening klseet page. My bad!

Thanks!

====

And just one more questions to the network sifus out there, why does this kind of problem happen? is it caused by bad TM UNIFI hardware / firmware design? coz for a layman like me, isnt all WLAN connections the same? why does my mobile connects and browse the internet flawlessly with my strymx modem / router but cant with the dumb TMRND Unifi router eventho the wireless band b/g/n and channels are set identical for both? is there any other technical explanation for this? is there such a thing as incompatible mobile phone wifi protocols with specific router hardwares?

TM should clearly state and address this 'minor' problems clearly to their customers. Its just like they develop their UNIFI hardware for the sake of PC / Laptop --> Internet only and didnt consider the plethora of mobile devices Malaysians have nowadays.

So for those who are planning to subscribe / move on to UNIFI, please do remember that STOCK TM ROUTERS are USELESS with mobile devices and in some way Game consoles like PS3 and X360 thru WLAN (alrdy tested). Go ready urselves with aftermarket branded Routers (TP-Link, etc) if u are people who occasionally use mobile devices to connect to the internet in ur home network and online gaming. BE WARNED.
