you got that right, brotha! response time is uber slow in Samsung rom. but, other than that, everything's wonderful! native codec support (don't need Moboplayer or Playerpro), 720p recording (without hiccups), FMradio, Allshare, Samsung App, Task Manager, and not to forget can screw with the fanbois.

Just logged in to samfirmware.com. I saw more gingerbread firmware for Asia. Which one is for Malaysia with Bahasa Malaysia package? Sorry, cannot remember which one is code for Malaysia.

Fuff...long time no flashing. What firmware/custom mod you all want to suggest to me?

Playerpro is for playing music, FLAC in specific. Samsung music player can play FLAC just fine. So, I don't need playerpro anymore.
I'm not in Malaysia, so I don't really need DX firmware.

Go back to 2.2.1. I don't notice much difference between 2.3.3 and 2.2.1 unless I'm mistaken. Until this problem is solved 2.2.1 will serve u well.

The big difference is if you've GPS lock-in problem previously.
By changing to 2.3.3, your GPS lock-in problem is history. tongue.gif

Ice cream not out yet, so no CM8 until then, I think. biggrin.gif

If you think the cm7 nightlies are coming out too fast, wait till you check out the fugumod kernels for CM7. Just yesterday alone I saw 5 (yes, FIVE!) releases.. Updated to #36 this morning and now I see #42 in the repository, wah lau!

XXJVP is damn fast even without EXT4 conversion. the CPU score is as high as CM7. i can easily achieve near to 1900 score in quadrant. i believe after conversion to EXT4, it should hit more than 2k

Samsung maybe cheating with Quadrant. something related to stagefright or whatever. but thing is: dev once did that, but breaks many things like FLAC. Samsung pulled the same stunt but FLAC playback works just fine. either Samsung staffs are smarter now or the devs are stupid.

I find fugumod kernel smoother and more power saving than the stock CM7 kernel. After you apply a CM7 nightly, you will then need to apply the latest fugumod kernel on top.

I used Fugumod on CM7 because other custom kernel just doesn't want to mate with my SGS. LOL
but, now I'm on stock rooted XXJVP 2.3.4
less responsive *than CM7* but still good.
