hurm~ so no prob in gingerbread? well i heard form a lot of vendors saying dun swtich to gingerbread use froyo~ of cz sgs2 is the one i want but i dun want to spend too much on phone~ nexus s looks good but htc is kinda err too big to fin in my pocket 4.3 inch >.< .. the 4 inch samsung g s is nice ~

yeah i agree with u on that in term of specs it will last longer~ well no matter .. i wasn't looking for the best phones~ but since my budget is around 1.5 k thats why my eyes are on sgs~

So is my phone defective I ask?  Physical damage I don't see any .  Hardware wise there is no denying SGS is great with its beautiful Super AMOLED screen but oversaturated and inaccurate colors. 

Regarding my GPS, I manage to get my GPS working in Froyo but since I switch to Gb, it have no luck getting any lock on.  So is my GPS hardware broken?  If it is, then why does it work in froyo 2.2.1? 

So my SGS can do all the tweaks imaginable and I like that. 

But imagine I got a very important appointment tomorrow which i cannot miss.  So before I go to bed, i must remember to set my alarm.  Alarm I set but it never ring the next day!  Why because my SGS was out of juice when I was deep asleep, but how can that be?  I have a 50% charge left when I go to bed.  So I miss the appointment and can only live to regret it.

Then I charge my phone  night before so i have a full charge the next day.  Brought my lovely wife and kids out for shopping and movies etc.  Was expecting a very important call from an oversea client.  It was 3 pm in the afternoon and I hardly use my phone but it only got 10% juice left.  But I am expecting a call from my client and he hasn't call yet.  So I cut short my family outing and head back home to charge my bat?  Home is a least 90 minutes in this heavy traffic so do I have enough juice left?

The moral of this story is that we can do whatever tweak we can on our SGS but at the end of the day, it has to do what it is suppose to do.  And not give us any hustle doing it.  I just want a peace of mind.

There is a way you can have the best of both worlds. For eg. I m on stock Froyo for 2 and a half weeks already coz I need stability for my daily works. A working smartphone without all the fancy themes and features. When i am free or my daily works not that demanding anymore, I will flash to a custom ROM, use it and if it is stable enough, I will continue to use it.

When I need to go for oversea assignment and I feel that the custom ROM is not that reliable, I will flash back to stock Froyo before I go, that is my stable base which is always reliable. 

I can confirm its not that 3 files that cause the drain.  I have already delete the files and it still happens.

use the universal product code changing method    you can get malaysia APN automaticly when insert a sim card, if you search my post i post the method few pages back,

silentser & ken2291, thanks for the info guys. Great to hear Samsung has great supports/updates to the Android OS, I'm considering this phone and HTC Wildfire S. For now my mind is slightly set on SGS. Fingers crossed.

The big difference is if you've GPS lock-in problem previously.
By changing to 2.3.3, your GPS lock-in problem is history.

Could be loose usb cable connection too. Take out battery and try again. This time don't touch your laptop/pc, cable and phone after you click start in odin.
